As many of you know I co-host a podcast called,
“take it to 2”.

Even before I had my own show, I was a lover of the latest medium of entertainment, news, education and chat. Now I’m unsure if I can call myself a seasoned veteran but I certainly do have opinions on podcasts and what I would suggest that my friends and family should listen to. So instead of offering a list of my favorite podcasts, I was thinking I’d share what I’m listening to now. Think of this as a podcast driven “what books do you have on your nightstand?” kind of list.

Direct from my podcast library and in no certain order the shows I’m listening to right now.

  1. WELCOME TO NIGHT VALE – iTunes

“Welcome to Night Vale” is a twice- monthly show that centers on a fictitious desert town; it’s local news broadcaster and strange goings on that tie them all together. Think, Angels, Aliens and News oh my!

  1. THE ADVENTURE ZONE – iTunes & Spotify

My daughter, Starwarsgen, originally suggested listening to “The Adventure Zone”. At first I could think of nothing worse than a show about Dungeons and Dragons and its unfolding game play in real-time. I swear all I wanted to do was slam my head into the nearest wall...but hey, we do stuff for our kid’s right? Instead of being turned off by the show, I wanted to become part of it. It’s all in the family as three brothers Justin, Travis and Griffin McElroy and their lovable dad Clint host the podcast. I can’t say enough about how sweet this show is, if nothing else it will make you want to hug your nearest and dearest.

  1. UP AND VANISHED – iTunes & UAV Website

This true crime and investigative reporting podcast follows the disappearance of high school teacher and beauty queen, Tara Grinstead. Hosted by documentary filmmaker Payne Lindsey, this unique show unravels an eleven-year mystery over the course of 24 shows. That show count does not included his “Q&A sessions” or the ever-compelling “Case Evidence” podcasts that help you decipher what is happening in the case at any given time. I can’t encourage you enough to start listening today.

  1. CRIMETOWN – iTunes

Crimetown follows the rise and fall and rise again of Providence, Rhode Island’s two-time Mayor Vincent “Buddy” Cianci. Early in “Buddy’s” career he became famous for going after mobsters as the Assistant Attorney General for Rhode Island only later to be run out of the mayors office after a felony conviction for assault. What does he do next? Runs and becomes Providence mayor again. Take this ride with “Crimetown” you won’t regret it.

This podcast is from an earlier release in February 2017. In podcast land, it makes it an oldie but a goodie. Join filmmaker and friend of Richard Simmons, Dan Taberski try to figure out where and why he disappeared from public life on February 15, 2014. Trust me this unique podcast gives an insight on Richard Simmons that has really never been done before. I have to admit I grieved the end of this show.

Okay steemians, now it’s your turn. Let me know if you’re interested in hearing more about podcasts or how you can make them. I’m always happy to share whatever I can.

My therapist says... "Sure you are"...

This was a great idea. I am still trying to get into listening to the podcasts out there as there just seem to be so many to choose from! Obviously I'm partial to @takeitto2 but these are really cool suggestions. Thanks for posting!

Welcome to NightVale is amazing... Honestly Cecil's voice is so relaxing and despite the crazy happenings, it brings me so much peace
