Niantic has decided to give us a Pikachu (and Pichu and Raichu) in summer-style for the two year anniversary of Pokémon GO! This Pikachu is all decked out in a summery straw hat and sunglasses. When they announced it they didn't specify a date of when it would start showing up in the game, only that it would stay until July 31. I thought it would start showing up sometime after the upcoming July Community Day with Squirtle. Though as I was coming home earlier I was suddenly greeted by this cute summer-style Pikachu at a Pokéstop close to my home!
It looks super adorabel with this hat! <3 I wonder if a male Pikachu with this hat will have the same flowers or not, does anyone know? Otherwise I'll find out soon enough if I encounter a male Pikachu. We are getting an increase of both Pikachu and Pichu, so once my 3 Alolan eggs hatch I'll get 2 more and then keep a slot to spin a regular egg and hope for a 2km one. So far I only have regular Pichu and Pichu from Halloween, so I would love to get a summer-style Pichu too!
These Pikachu will fit nicely alongside the upcoming Squirtle with sunglasses that we have a chance of getting during the Community Day this upcoming Sunday! I wonder if we'll have both variants of sunglasses from the original Squirtle Squad in the anime or if we'll only be getting the design that Ash's Squirtle was wearing
