Heh, nice to see you put a lot of work in unity, looks like u got a lot of frustration from trying to bake lights on these objects ^^" thank you for upvoting my introductory post ^^

thanks for stopping by. yes baking can be extremely slow and frustrating. i see you have some interesting art going on 👍

Great job, following your updates ;)

thanks man. you have some interesting art going on. i'm following on your stuff too.

Nice :) Since your list is full of shooters: have you ever thought of making a FPS yourself?

yes! in fact i got into game development thinking i'm gonna make my own fps game.
somewhere along the process i realized i simply couldn't do it. there's way too many components in a modern fps game, no single individual can do them all. and we don't really have a culture for mods anymore.

i still like more casual games like super meat boy, so for now i'm focused on small indie projects. eventually i plan to move onto more epic games.

That's unfortunately true, and it's especially sad that mods aren't as big as they used to.
I think it is still possible for a single person to make a FPS, but the result of course looks more like something from the 90ies and can not compete with something like Crysis.

yes people have gotten used to AAA games so mods don't really have a place anymore. it is kinda unfortunate but there's still a lot of room for smaller games. i guess i'm still happy with the current state of gaming.

Warcraft 3 was one of my first if not first game I bought. I was super crappy at playing it back then but there were that simple modding tool that allowed it to have excellent custom games. There was og DOTA that later led to all these hero arena games. I also realy liked the vanilla WC3 campaign story were arthas took his path from young paladin prince to first death knight of lich king. There was that one spesific cutscene

that still gives me chills. I also played a plenty of COD MW2 and BF Bad Company 2 with MW2 being a good example how to make an action packed multiplayer fps and bf bc2 being fps game that has never been surpassed in the amount of destructible envirovment. I feel that I have not tested enough games yet and that I could find masterpieces that intrest me from unexpected genres.

for some reason i can't read your reply. i can only see the first few words in a preview.

Okay, somethings fucked up since I can only see video I linked there. Don't worry, I am going to play game that I was talking about.

Doom is such a fantastic game. I was watching the video you played in the background, and realizing just how well everything is placed in that game. Just so simple and perfect.

yes! it was the first time i experienced an entire world because no game was so emersive until then. it was so simple and smooth. so elegant. it was the first game that really made you feel like you were there. everything was worth looking at.

very good

thanks

Man.. when that Crysis cinematic started playing, the camera close up to the Nano Suit showing those incredible detail, it makes me remember the first time I dropped my jaw when I tried Crysis too, but it was Crysis 3 for me.

I find the idea of games leading someone into a life path that one happy with, which is gamedev in this case, is amazing. Good luck with your game development!

thanks man. i never played crysis 3 but i can imagine how you felt. some games are so amazing they're life changing. i know there's a lot of people who never get into gaming, but to me it's almost part of life.

i haven't played the first 2, the second one i didn't even know but i have played the crisis series! for me the first games were Pokemon yellow to my Nintendo :P and age of mythology ( a strategy game) to my pc and even now i don't have the time or the pc structure to play the game i want to i always check about the upcoming ones or reviews :P

yea dedication to gaming actually requires a lot of resources, both money and time. i don't get to enjoy too many video games either. i hope i'd have enough money one day to actually sit down, relax, and play.

i hope the exact same, with no regrets and concerns only enjoying life!
