Absolutely agree, I have been a fan of the show since the beginning and have been really disappointed with this season so far.
The first 2 episodes of season 8 were alright but they seemed to be about building up the tension and setting us up for a huge epic battle, but the 3rd did not live up to the expectations and was a massive anti-climax.
It seems to me like the writers have sacrificed any need for the story to make logical sense within the world the show is set in exchange for having some one-off shock moments.
The latest episode has a perfect example with Euron taking down the dragon. Daenerys had an aerial view and would have seen any enemy ships before they got anywhere near, but somehow Euron has hidden an entire fleet behind a rock and takes out the first dragon with pinpoint accuracy. But then those same weapons manage to miss Daenerys and the dragon she is riding even though she is right in front of them.
That's just one example but there are dozens if you go back through the last few seasons and it has completely ruined what was originally a brilliant show.
