Working out on an empty stomach and why it makes sense.

People ask a lot about how I came up with my plan. — I look at how nature does things.

See, I do purely fast workouts, and some people say, “You need BCAA’s at least!” And guess what, I was one of them... But I had only tiptoed in the fasted workout arena.

Now, after doing pure fasted workouts for about a year now, I can tell you that it is amazing, and is how humans should workout.

How do I come to this conclusion, well, after you learn the basic theory of weight loss, (what carbs, proteins, fats do to our hormones like insulin, HGH, cortisol, etc.) then you can start to branch off and do your theorizing.

I see nature as my teacher because nature never lies.

When an animal or a hunter-gatherer was hunting, it wasn’t on a full stomach, actually quite the opposite. Most hunters would not have eaten in days and have to chase down and kill an animal, sometimes bigger than themselves, drag it to a safe location (they couldn't eat on the spot, predators would come with blood smell in the air). — So, that is a hardcore workout, sprinting, training, fighting, climbing, I mean, fuck sake; all on an empty stomach!

None of them said, “Oh, hold on, and let me grab some BCAA’s bros before we go and hunt this wholly mammoth, I don't want to lose muscle mass.”

So, predator animals and hominoid beings always would go to sleep when it was dark, wake up when it was light and hunt from early day until midday. And our hormones reflect this. The body produces night time hormones at night, (melatonin for example.) And the body produces daytime hormones during light hours (cortisol for example.) — I ride these hormones like brilliant stallions to get the most out of my life!

The body produces human growth hormone at an extraordinary rate when you are working out fasted. Yes, just by taking BCAA's will stunt the growth hormone.

But if you do have food, I would make it liquid meals that are low carb because if you eat solid food, you’ll spike your insulin and lose out on any benefits of the fasted workout experience.

Worse yet, you will be digesting food, which is not good when you are pushing your body beyond its current limits physically. Digestion alone takes a tremendous amount of energy to undergo, but add working out while digesting, then your workout and digestion suffer. —It is best to do one then the other. Workout, rest thirty minutes to an hour, then eat your big meal and then rest some more.

If you’ve never worked out fasted, I would take it slowly and ease into it. Start with liquid, once you feel great doing liquid switch to pure BCAA’s. Once you feel comfortable with pure BCAA’s then lower the amount until you can workout fasted.

Thanks Buddy! :)

Couldn't agree more! We have been trained to not function properly as human beings, its easier to control a sick population.

Yep.

Great post!

Thank you!

I always tell these kids...the caveman/woman didn't have 7/11 to stop at!

Right?? SMH

great info. I have been doing this as well.
From what I know, if you are doing a 16 hr intermittent fasting , and working out on an empty stomach, it is best to be in a state of ketosis, otherwise, during the fasting period your body will consume glycogen from your muscles, for energy.
What do you think?

The body only consumes muscle if you let your heart rate race too fast. The body will always burn fat if you keep your heart rate normal throughout. Think of glycogen like fuel for a rocket and think of fat as fuel for your normal everyday vehicle. As long as you take it easy, your body has no reason to use glycogen.

Thanks for that. I will look into it further.
