What’s going on Steemians?

Hope it’s been a great week so far and has been a beautiful day on your side of town.

As I’ve mentioned before to many of my family, friends and clients that we are in the middle of an ever increasing obesity and chronic disease epidemic in our nation.

This is without a doubt a result of powerful marketing campaigns, social engineering and poor eating, drinking and overall lifestyle choices that most of us make on a daily basis.

Diabetes is now one of the top 10 killers of Americans and it is also been reported that diabetes can be indirectly related to 40 to 75% of all annual deaths in America.

Diabetes is one of the many common chronic diseases that come from eating too much salt, sugar, fat and process foods.

I have extensively researched this topic for over the past ten years and I personally believe that the massive consumption of sugar, dairy and animal products/proteins is a major contributor to not only diabetes but many other physical disorders that we encounter in our country today.

These “dead”, unprocessed and nutrient deficient foods are a surefire recipe for increasing your risk of not only diabetes but many of the other chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even cancer.

There are several steps you can take in order to control your blood glucose.

If you can learn how to implement these simple tips and strategies into your daily routine you will remain greatly reduce your risk of ever being diagnosed with diabetes and also improve your overall quality of health and fitness along the way.

The foods that you eat should come from a variety of sources. The big four are: fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes. They are packed with nutrition, are low in fat, high in fiber and cause no known physical harm with the exception of allergic reactions.

The rest of diabetic food list include: Very limited amounts of dairy products, grass fed meats of any kind including chicken, beef, turkey and pork.

Ideally we should only 8% of ideally diet should consist of animal proteins. Unfortunately most Americans eat approximately 40 to 50% (and some even higher)

Dr. Colin Campbell is a brilliant doctor, an author and was the head researcher on ground breaking study called the China Study.

If you haven’t already my friend, I highly recommend that you check out the China study and its profound results and conclusions.

This study was the largest human research project that involved detailed investigation into the impact of food and lifestyle choices on the overall health and fitness of certain groups of people and communities in China.

The study essentially proved that populations that consume large amounts of animal proteins which include any food that comes from an animal increase their risk of obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, cancer and the majority of common diseases that affect Americans on a daily basis.

These food items includes all dairy products, i.e. milk, cheese, butter and ice cream just a name of few.

Please know that animal proteins also include all animal products such as beef, pork, turkey, chicken and seafood so I highly recommend that you limit these items as much is possible.

Individuals who consume a diet filled with these items placed themselves at a higher risk of being diagnosed with one or more of the common chronic diseases that we suffer from needlessly today.

All of these items that I have just named are all inherently full of fat and cholesterol while also having very little nutrient value and no fibrous content.

Fiber helps regulate the body’s use of sugars, helping to keep hunger and blood sugar in check.

Great sources are whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans.

Children and adults need at least 20 to 30 grams of fiber per day for optimum health, but most Americans usually only about 15 grams a day.

The China Study also included a study where lab rats were injected with a form of cancer and then studied the results to see if diets would trigger any physiological response.

What the researchers discovered was that when the rats consumed over 20% animal proteins they greatly increase their risk of dis-ease, immune system dysfunction, overall health deterioration and also activated the dormant cancer cells and eventually lead to death of 100% of lab rats tested.

It’s without a doubt that our lifestyle choices are a major contributor to the obesity and chronic disease epidemic going on in America today

An interesting fact that they found when performing their research is that when lab rats, different villages or communities consumed over 20% vegetable protein nothing happened at all.

They even notice that the participants began to heal faster and improve their overall health, fitness and actually decreased the size of the cancer cells in their bodies significantly.

If you ever get a chance while you’re surfing on Google just go ahead and type in “China Study”and check it out for yourself.

Here are a few tips you can use to help combat Diabetes:

  • Keep a food, fitness and feelings diary. This will help you identify the problem areas in your diet, physical activity and emotions.

  • Make it a habit to consume at least 50% living foods daily. When I say living food, I’m referring to the big four that we talked about earlier my people. That’s fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes (beans/peas)

  • Simple sugars should be avoided while complex carbohydrates (fruits and vegetables) are the best choice. Foods that contain a lot of water and fiber are best.

Think of whole foods such as watermelon, melons, plums, berries and grapes; even broccoli and carrots are great choices

  • An excess of anything is bad. Keep your diet balanced. A little of everything is the best way of ensuring that you don’t become nutrient deficient in any of the essential vitamins and minerals that we need to function properly.

  • Make colorful salad filled with several different vegetables, raisins, nuts and seeds. I strongly rooted essential to make this mainstay of at least one meal each and every day.

This simple tip alone will greatly help you combat and even reverse diabetes along with other essential lifestyle improvements.

  • Finally you have to make room for delicious and healthy deserts and treats or it will literally drive you up the wall! The key is moderation. Never binge on that chocolate cake. Take a few bites from one slice instead. That’s the way you handle the munchies or other cravings for sugar you make get throughout the day.

In the upcoming days and weeks I’ll present several other great choices to add to your diet in order to combat not only diabetes but obesity and other common chronic diseases as well.

If you know anyone suffering from diabetes unnecessarily please share this article with them.

I also would love to hear your thoughts, suggestions and opinions on this topic.

Until next time my friends…

Stay blessed,
