Wim Hof, also known as the iceman, holds several world records in cold exposure.

"The cold is my teacher, hard but righteous"
                                           Wim Hof

He got a lot of exposure lately, through several podcasts (The Joe Rogan experience fe)and since cold exposure gets more and more attention in the fitness field.
He was working with all different kinds of people. From the average Joe over very sick people to professional athletes.

There is a great Vice piece about him on youtube you can check out.

He offers a 10 weeks course on his website, which consists of

  1. a breathing excerise

  2. some Yoga

  3. cold showers

I bought this course about 15 months ago and despite I really really liked it, I wasnt able to get through week 4 or 5 I think and quit. But the cold showers stuck with me since I ve started with this course.

I want to change this now and document my journey here.

I will start in week 1 again for a total fresh start. I am in Thailand atm so cold showers are kind of hard to get here, but I will have access to ice baths. Not daily, as it would get to expenive for me, but 2-3 times a week.

I ve enjoyed the breathing the most anyway.

I am really looking forward to it, since I have only good memories about it. I felt very "powerful" within myself and the breathing brought me into a very deep meditativ state from time to time.

So in the coming weeks I want share my progress with you.

breathe motherfucker

I tried his breathing technique while shoveling snow last winter and it worked, while wearing a t shirt and shorts I stayed perfectly warm in the middle of a snowstorm. Wim Hof is awesome!!

@flipstar I've been wanting to take that course as well. I wish the best in your attempt to make it through again, and look forward to seeing your updates!

Breath Muthafucka! :D

Even just going through half the course had a positive impact on my life.

Will try my best to get through this time.

I can only recomned getting it. But also just doing the breathing and taking some cold showers will propaply do the trick to be honest.

@flipstar How long are you usually in the cold shower?

it tends to change now on how I feel between 30 sec and 5 minutes.
The first week suggest you go for 30 secs after a warm shower

Go for it! A friend of mine totally jumped into the Hof method, he´s teaching and training now, even football "stars"! It´s your journey, so take it however it presents itself to you .. I also started with cold showers a while ago, due to the reason that it gets you into the moment, into your body, into the presence ... take care

wow thats amazing.
How long has he been training?

Yes you are absolutly right about the cold is bringing you into the moment.

Been following Wim hof For a while now, Highly recommend his technique! He kicks ass!!

He really does.

Are you a Hoffer also?
