My Latest Jar Of Fire Cider
Anyone that that follows my blog on homestead life knows that much revolves around my garden. No matter if I plant a garden around a cabin, as I have done many times, or have a container garden in a more urban setting, life revolves around what I am able to grow and put away for winter.
One of the most important gifts we have is our good health. It is important to keep our immunity levels in the body high. Some people run to get the flu shot and others make up their own preventive tonic. For this I would like to share my version of Fire cider. There are many different recipes for this awesome tonic, but this is the one I use daily. Take the basic recipe and make it your own. Do whatever you can to take charge over your own health. You will be healthier and glad you did.
Marla's Fire Cider
In a large jar of at least half gallon size add the following: (fresh from the garden when possible or organic from the market if not in season)
2 Sprigs of Rosemary
2 Onions chopped small
2 Bulbs garlic-crushed
1/2 ginger root-chopped
1 or 2 tumeric roots (you can substitute 2 Tablespoons of the powered)-chopped (leave out if on blood thinners, diabetic medicines, or medicines for stomach acid)
1/2 horseradish root-chopped
1/2 beet root-chopped
1 Jalapeno pepper
1 Habanero pepper
Black pepper freshly ground
Juice and rind of one lemon
Fill the jar to cover all of the above well with Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother.
Put jar on the counter out of bright sunlight and shake daily for 2 weeks.
At the end of 2 weeks, you can drain off the liquid and put in a glass bottle with a tight lid.
Take 1/2 shot glass each morning for maintaince. If you are sick, take it once in the morning and again in the evening. In time, you most likely will notice that you will be healthier than before. A good immune system will keep you well.
NOTE; THIS IS A HOT RECIPE. IF YOU CAN NOT HANDLE IT, DO WHAT YOU CAN. CHANGE THE RECIPE AND MAKE IT YOURS. IF YOU CAN LEARN TO USE IT THIS WAY, YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO A GOOD RESULT.
This has been just another project on the homestead. I make a jar of Fire Cider every 2 weeks. I hope you are able to use this amazing tonic. Want to know what each item does for you? Google it and you will be shocked at what this small beginners step toward health will accomplish. Of course, check with your doctor before adding this to your diet.
Enjoy life on the homestead,

I have used it as a salad dressing. I usually use Balsalmic Vinegar or Lemon juice, so it is a nice twist sometimes. I have 1/2 to 1 shot each morning. That has been enough to keep me well for years.
