Acting (Pj) Chairperson of the Aceh Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda), Hj. Safriati, S.Si, M.Si, provided guidance and motivation for embroidered clothing craftsmen in Arongan Village, Simpang Mamplam District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province on Wednesday, 10/23/2024.

In addition to providing guidance, on that occasion, Kak Nana (Safriati's nickname) also accommodated the complaints of the craftsmen. Starting from the unavailability of embroidery machines to the lack of capital to provide raw materials.

The wife of the Acting Governor of Aceh, answered various questions directly and provided solutions to the problems experienced by craftsmen in the Arongan village.

"In the future, strengthen communication and discuss it with the district/city Dekranasda, later the district/city Dekranasda will convey it to us in routine meetings," said Kak Nana.

Furthermore, Kak Nana praised the craftsmen in Gampong Arongan, the majority of whom are still young. She appreciated the young people in the village for wanting to learn and continue the skills that have existed for a long time among local women.

"In several other areas that I visited, the craftsmen were already elderly, their ages are advanced, but here many are still young and want to become craftsmen," said Kak Nana.

Furthermore, Kak Nana also advised the craftsmen to continue to innovate the products they make. Starting from design, motifs, colors, packaging to including regional identity symbols on the products.

"Dekranasda Aceh has a gallery of Acehnese craft products in Banda Aceh, if the products here are good and of high quality, we can display them in the gallery and one of the market shares is guests from various provinces and ministries and institutions who make official visits to Aceh," said Kak Nana.

Kak Nana said that the number of craftsmen in the village, which reached 65 people, could be a great potential to propose to the local government to be designated as an embroidery center area.

Kak Nana hopes that the craftsmen in Gampong Arongan can continue to develop and advance in marketing their products. So that it can increase the income of each family in the village.
