Six Sub-districts in Bireuen Receive AKS Awards.

Three sub-districts in the western region and three sub-districts in the eastern region of Bireuen received the best award certificates in terms of Stunting Case Audit (AKS) in 2024.

The awards were presented in a series of meetings for the Dissemination of Stunting Case Audits stage II at the Oproom of the Bireuen Regent's Office, Monday (4/11/2024).

The sub-districts that received the award for the best implementation of AKS stage II in the western region of Bireuen were the best I for the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS) won by Juli Sub-district, the best II for Pandrah Sub-district and the best three for Jeumpa Sub-district.

Meanwhile, in the eastern region of Bireuen, the best I was won by the TPPS Peusangan Siblah Krueng Sub-district, the best II was won by Peusangan Selatan Sub-district and the best III was won by Gandapura Sub-district.

The award was presented by the Acting Regent of Bireuen, Jalaluddin SH MM accompanied by the Head of the Village Empowerment, Women and Family Planning Service (DPMGP-KB) Bireuen, Ir Mukhtar, Acting Chairperson of TP PKK and other officials.

In the meeting, the Head of DPMGP-KB Bireuen said that the dissemination was the result of stunting measurements and publication of stunting figures as well as evaluation of stunting reduction convergence actions to strengthen stunting reduction convergence through cross-sectoral and cross-program coordination.

The purpose of the meeting, he said, was to convey the results of the stunting audit case study based on the target group for the stunting audit.

In the implementation of stunting case identification from 13-21 August in 17 sub-districts, the technical team has collected a number of stunting case data consisting of 2 cases of prospective brides, 20 cases of pregnant women, two cases of postpartum women, 26 cases of two-year-old toddlers and 34 cases of five-year-old toddlers, a total of 84 cases.

Of the 84 cases, two cases will be analyzed in depth by a team of experts who will later produce recommendations.

Acting Regent of Bireuen, Jalaluddin SH MM in the meeting, among others, said that the audit is expected to help reduce stunting rates with a more structured, focused, and sustainable approach.

On the other hand, the audit of stunting cases is also considered necessary to be disseminated with the aim of increasing awareness and understanding, disseminating information about the causes and risk factors for stunting to stakeholders, including the community, health workers, and other related parties.

Thus, they can better understand the importance of stunting prevention and intervention.

"I ask the Bireuen Regency TPPS, sub-district TPPS and village TPPS as well as other stakeholders to improve coordination and collaborate in making efforts to accelerate stunting reduction," he said.

In addition, for the village level, ask the village head as the village TPPS supervisor, together with the TPPS head, village midwife, health center nutrition officer, family planning officer, family support team (TPK) and human development cadres (KPM) to conduct tracing and find babies/toddlers at risk of stunting and families at risk of stunting and optimize the use of village funds to accelerate the reduction of stunting.
