Dear Houseowner,

You think I don't count because I look ancient
Not even my vintage black-yellow of the 70s makes your heart sing and swell with pride.

It's fine with you
If everyone ignores me
No one sees me and I am invisible.

If I'm hidden behind a chair
Curtain, in the basement or in a dark corner.
Sooner or later, girl, I'm gonna warn you
Just wait and see...
You will need me
So don't screw with me!

Did you hit me with a hammer?
Did you try to unscrew my body?
Why is it you refuse to take care of me?
Can't you be gentle,
Spray me at least twice a year with WD-40, please?

Why do you want to replace me?
The heater and I are a team
There's no need to modernize us.

Your so far, not screwed up, old fashioned, but perfectly well functioning,

Kühler-Heizung Drehknopf

Facing this monolith of doubtful origin, I can't help but smile. Its scars seem to narrate a comedy of errors and frustrations, the hammering a desperate attempt to fathom what it might hide. Maybe a Soviet artifact to scan secret energy flows at the heart of the Netherlands? Or an altar for some incomprehensible terrestrial deity? But my fantasy runs to celestial visitors: a friendly reminder from the universe, a vestige of their technology, perhaps something essential for them, a device with arcane functions that we cannot even remotely conceive. Happy Sunday.👋

This is something German weisser-rabe dug it up so perhaps it is a secret wespon to boil eggs and the lost egg is inside. A scewdriver won't open it. 🤔

Don't you think it's a bit small for an altar? Perhaps a tiny elf's one.

I am not sure if your entry is helpful but dream on dear and enjoy your Sunday too..
🍀❤️

It's a heater, right?

You'll be surprised to know that i don't take hot showers even in super cold weather. Only once in a blue moon.

So I'll be fine if that poor heater screwed up🐒Sorry😜

I have no idea what it is. It is not a heater perhaps the knob of a 'radiator' part of 'central heating'?

See picture where that knob is a thermostat. I never saw such one, we had simple white/grey ones to open and close. That was it. Not that I see a radiator on the picture.

So it's not for hot water (heating/heater) but for heating the house. Since even weisser-rabe says she wouldn't know if she hadn't written about it we most likely never guess what it is.
For sure not something I have in my house.

Just like you I rarely have a (hot) shower. We do not have hot water daily. I have a small electric boiler 30 litres which can be used once or twice s week but mainly for the children. If no longer winter we wash ourselves and hair with cold water. There will be one or two blue moons this year. Be prepared.

I have a small kitchen boiler and faucet installed since a few months which is luxury. I am happy with it. The kitchen boiler I switch on max once a day. I have hot water within 10 minutes. It will cost more electricity but one has to live right.

Back to the photo...the lost egg is black-yellow attached to the wall, it has screws and is damaged. Perhaps @ibesso knows he's a man and living in a city, perhaps even a vintage home with items no one knows what they are meant for.

It's so difficult to survive winters, you live in a country where weather is cold mostly.

We have it for only 3months and people go crazy figuring out how to take showers as we don't have gas most of the time in winters and electricity is super expensive here.

Above all doing dishes is an extreme sport, that grease makes it ugly to do it plus hands suffer the most if hot water is used all the time😡

I like spring when we have no extreme weather, such a blissful season.

There will be one or two blue moons this year. Be prepared.

Oh really😍

I scrape the grease out if the pan is still warm unless I use it for something else. Sometimes the cat's tongue helps too, it's like sandpaper. Gloves can help but I am allergic to the powder inside, most of the detergent too. The dirty things I let soak.

They say lemon helps but lemon is way too expensive. I once tried it no result.

With us electricity is not the most expensive but the wires and all the nonsense, tax over tax. A bill of 1400 euros/year is about 200 use of dlectricity :(

Loving eggs...yesterday I prepared and ate a salty cake made of one egg, two little English potatoes, cassava and oregano😄😄😄😄

You can share the recipe. I assume you mean a pastry? But what is on the photo???

To cook this cake, you first boil the potatoes. When boiled, take away the skin (without touching with your hands while they are hot potatoes). Smash and add the egg and Himalayan salt. Put 2 or 3 spoons of cassava flour in a pan (at the place of oil: suffering cause a severe SII, I can't eat nothing fried) and swtch on the stove (lower fire). Add the smashed potatoes with egg on the cassava. Turning the mixture until is well cooked. Add the oregano when is cooked. Look, it needs a nonstick pan cause no oil in this recipe.

Thank you. The only problem might be the cassave flour but perhaps the indonedian toko sells it. It's more like luxury mashed potatoes with extra taste. Your oregano is fresh I assume?
I use nom stick pans only although with the low gas pressure/bad quality it's difficult to fry anything at all.
👍

Cassava flour is Latin American. If there are Brazilian shops/minimarkets in Netherlands, you can find packages (one or a half kilo). In any way, if your bowels work well, you can use oil (better if extra-virgin olive oil) at the place of cassava flour. I must cook with cassava because I can't tolerate fried food cause a severe IBS. My oregano is from supermarket, not fresh, unfortunately. But I stick very well with it, in any way.

Ps.: I was forgetting: it's not the cassava flour ready to eat, but it's the one white as snow that cooks very quickly

We do not have such shoos perhaps a bio shop has it or online.
I have olive oil but I doubt my intestines work well. So I'm going to give it a try if I can find it.
We have 'krupuk' made of cassave so I assume it's somewhere.

Thanks for letting me know. 👍

Take care of your bowels! I know very well how IBS harms...

The best for me is to not eat at all.

It has really been a whole long of time I tasted egg last. I am really missing it badly

How come it's been so long since you had egg?

I still taste the last one if you ask me that boiled one was bad 🤢

Any idea what the thing on the picture is? If you can write about it - or make something up.

Some personal reasons. I need to stop it because of my health then but I will be back eating it soon.

Huh let me try whether I can come up with that picture and interesting writeup

I am sorry to hear you had to give up on it because of your health. Keep my rotten egg in mind to make it yourself easier.

I hope your health will be better and you can eat eggs again.

Feel free to tag me if you made up something. Happy writing!

🍀❤️

Oh dear... With this "heater", your next winter will be a strain!

It's a good thing I have a wood stove 🤣 no knob just a smoking door

I wish I could tell what that stuff is?? It’s looking like a water heater … just taking a wild guess

It's not a water heater I think. No knobs hot - cold, I don't think the material can contain water, no water pipes... It looks as if it is close to the floor plus attached to the wall. The way it is attached (that piece) reminds me of the radiator (of central heating of the house) but perhaps this is a great German invention we don't have and this egg will be lost forever. 😉
