Promoting Steem's STEM community on Facebook - Day four results after a $30/30-day advertising buy

Facebook Advertising Update

As previously noted, I recently reactivated the Science and Technology on the Social Blockchain Facebook page, and I have been sharing Steem links there that pertain to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics ( STEM) for about 1 1/2 months. Most of the articles I share come from the Popular STEM community, but I occasionally share other STEM-related posts, too.

The goal here is to expand participation in Steem's STEM community by helping to generate an audience for our authors.

This week, I reactivated another experiment which I had tried in 2020 or 2021, but temporarily abandoned due to cost and time constraints - as well as Facebook's annoying habit of rejecting ads for arbitrary reasons (I'm hoping that's improved now). On Wednesday, I boosted one of our community's posts with ad-spending. So, for my first ad in this phase of the cycle, I promoted my post, Free Market Environmentalists are building America's largest wildlife reserve [with video embeds], for $30 and 30 days.

After four days, Facebook says that the post reached 353 people and generated 35 link clicks, at a cost of $0.07 per click.

A call for help

I believe that a bigger audience will drive value on the blockchain, so it is in all of our interests to see initiatives like this succeed. Here's how you can help.

  • Please join the Popular STEM community and contribute English language content so that I can provide visibility to more authors.
  • Please follow the Science and Technology on the Social Blockchain Facebook page and Like/Share the Steem articles that I share there. The advertising cost is paid out of my own pocket, so it would be great if we can spread these articles organically.
  • Please support the Popular STEM authors with your attention, engagement, and upvotes.
  • If you have a high quality English language post on STEM topics that I've overlooked, let me know about it. If I agree, I'll share it on the Facebook page and potentially (rarely) boost it with ad spending. This can include posts of any age.
  • If you are a long-established Steemizen of high repute, let me know if you'd be interested in joining me as an admin/moderator on the Facebook page so we can find and share more content with the Facebook world.
  • If you moderate other communities, consider setting up a Facebook page in order to share your community's best content with the Facebook audience. It's free.

What Popular STEM is doing for authors

If you read the community rules and description, you'll see that we have also activated another mechanism to provide visibility to our community's authors. Namely, five pinned slots are available to authors who make use of Steem's built-in post promotion feature or who participate in the #burnsteem25 initiative.

And of course, we have been on top of the /promoted page for 22 consecutive weeks.

If you want to build an audience for your STEM blog on Steem, we want to help!

I made reposts of this post and the advertised one. Let more people see these wonderful posts. After all, the topic of ecology will always be relevant.

The topic is important and relevant. how good that you raise such important posts in the search. Now there are not many high-quality posts on the platform, but I am glad that they still exist!

Interesting "experiment" @remlaps

I'm curious what will be your long term results of this initiative.

Cheers, Piotr

I do not have too many followers, however I will make this post visible, I hope you have good answers, I had a bad experience with Facebook and other social networks, I deleted them, it is more in a post the user asks Can you live without social networks? my answer , of course , even better , calmer , in some of these social networks a lot of arrogance is handled and some think they are Gods , I do not like that , so I walked away , but not without first placing the so - called human GOD in his place I have a very strong temperament, I admit it, but the truth is that I don't think or want to change, I prefer to be alone.
