The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) has tested the YF-130 liquid rocket engine.

YF-130’s thrust is 5 meganewtons, more than any other liquid propellant rocket engine in use today.

The YF-130 is a closed-loop dual-chamber liquid-propellant rocket engine.

It runs on kerosene and oxygen, and its thrust reaches five meganewtons.

In this parameter, it surpasses all used liquid engines, including the Russian RD-180, whose thrust is 3.83 meganewtons.

The YF-130 was supposed to be used in the first stage of the super-heavy Long March 9 rocket.

However, last year the rocket design was changed, replacing the engines with less powerful ones.

On November 5, CASC successfully conducted the first full test of the engine.

The first flight of the Long March 9, which may use the YF-130, is scheduled for the end of the decade - 2028 or 2029.

It is assumed that this rocket will be capable of launching up to 150 tons into low Earth orbit.

The engine will be used for commercial space launch vehicles, and an important technical foundation for the development of reusable vehicles.
