Borscht but not borscht.
If one day you want to try the first dish listed in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage under the name "borscht" you should know that we are talking about red borscht which is cooked in meat broth with cabbage potatoes beans fried carrots and red beets which will give the borscht a bright rich red color.
Yes sour cream in this borscht will not be superfluous lol.
But there is another dish which is also called the word "borscht" but with the caveat "green borscht" which is also cooked in meat broth but with the addition of sour sorrel leaves boiled eggs and whatever your heart desires except red beets.
You see this borscht in the photo and it is green.
What these borschts have in common is that they both are good with sour cream.
