Compared to the smooth experience of Guilin and Liuzhou, the journey in Yangshuo seems to have a few more twists and turns👣
1⃣️No matter where you go, you have to face the reality of "additional fees"... The driver of the ride-sharing car from Guilin to Yangshuo asked for a price increase as soon as he made a phone call, and the Didi ride from the hotel to the high-speed railway station was not spared. Want to capture the perfect moment on a bamboo raft? 20 yuan only buys you five minutes of shooting time, and no matter where you park the rented electric bike, you can't escape the parking fee.
2⃣️The ancient town I stayed in, Xingping Li River Scenic Area, is really too small, with almost all restaurants and specialty shops. The road conditions are appalling, with very few cement roads and mostly muddy paths. It just so happened that I went there on a rainy day, and the ground was really dirty.
3⃣️The real beauty is hidden in the Yulong River rafting area, where the bamboo rafts are manually operated (tickets are in short supply and need to be booked in advance). Xingping has electric bamboo rafts and cruise ships🚢 (tickets can be purchased on the day). If you choose to take the high-speed train to Yulong River, it is really inconvenient. It is recommended to take a taxi or charter a car directly. In addition, the scenery presented by the homestays and cafes there is simply breathtaking.
4⃣️Be sure to check the weather forecast in advance, otherwise, if it rains, not only will the scenery be greatly reduced, but even traveling will become a luxury. That gray and gloomy feeling is really depressing😞
