Do you believe that global warming is affecting the frequency of natural phenomena?

Yes, I am convinced that global warming is altering the world’s climate, resulting in a rise in the occurrence of natural calamities. When global temperatures increase, it affects our weather. This happens because the land and oceans heat up, and this change influences the atmospheric currents above them.

That’s why some areas experience weather patterns that are uncommon for them. For example, parts of Europe now face temperatures of up to 50°C, whereas they usually didn’t get that hot in the past. Certain regions in America are hit by powerful storms that have never been recorded there before. This means that people in these places are now experiencing entirely different weather patterns.

All of this is happening because global temperatures are on the rise, and it’s affecting the climate everywhere. Some places have been affected so much that these new weather patterns feel completely alien to them. The root cause behind all this is global warming, which is increasing global temperatures. 🌡️

Has global warming impacted your country? Can you provide an example of its effects on both the country and yourself?

Yes, Pakistan has been severely affected by global warming, and its impacts are clearly felt by all of us. In Pakistan, due to climate change, there has been a noticeable rise in temperatures. In our district, Bhakkar, temperatures ranging from 43-50°C have become the norm, whereas such highs were unheard of in the past. Even in cities like Rawalpindi, which was considered a cooler region, now experience intense heat.

This change in weather is having profound effects on the people of Pakistan. The heat affects our health and our ability to work efficiently. Working during the sweltering heat, especially when drenched in sweat, isn’t easy. On top of that, the power outages make it even more unbearable. And then there’s the issue of the soaring electricity bills…

Our country’s economy has taken such a hit that the government has drastically increased taxes. The exchange rate of the dollar has skyrocketed, and job opportunities have dwindled. This month, the per-unit charges for electricity have been raised so much that people are now protesting and staging strikes. Tragically, some even took their own lives recently due to poverty, unable to pay the inflated bills. 😔

In your opinion, how do natural phenomena impact the economy and infrastructure of your country?

Indeed, natural disasters in Pakistan significantly impact our economy and infrastructure. When Pakistan experiences extreme weather events like heavy rain or cyclones, it also affects our markets. For instance, excessive rain damages farmers’ crops and fields. Fields get flooded, and the crops get destroyed, leading to reduced yield in the following year. This scarcity causes prices to soar, making it harder for people to afford staple foods like wheat or rice.

Floods also damage urban areas. In 2020, Karachi witnessed the worst flood in the history of Pakistan. Almost every year, many houses in Karachi collapse due to heavy rainfalls. People lose their homes and belongings. Roads need to be repaired, and funds are required to construct new hospitals and schools after the previous ones get ruined. Transport gets disrupted because roads get flooded. All of these affect our country’s economy negatively. Furthermore, during the winter when some regions get heavily snowed in, roads get blocked. This makes commuting difficult, impacts businesses, and even hinders tourism since travel becomes challenging.

If you were chosen to go to another planet at the end of the world, what or who would you take with you?

If I had the chance to go to another planet at the end of the world, I'd take my entire family with me. My family means everything to me. It consists of my parents, a younger brother, and two sisters. I couldn't imagine starting a new life on a new planet without them.

My parents have always been there for me. My siblings are still young and need me. Without them, I would feel incomplete even on another world. Together, we'd start a new chapter in our lives.

Yes, I understand that living without friends might be tough. But when starting anew, nothing is more valuable than family. Friends may come and go, but family is forever.

I trust that you found the information in my article to be valuable. 😊

Hello waqar,

I am totally agree with you that global warming is altering the world’s climate. Your post is really good with proper presentation. You are really a good rising star from Pakistan. I will try to participate, keep growing bhai.

Regards,
@malikusman1

Shukria bhai jaan. ❤️

Thank you so much for your invitation, already I submit my entry to the contest. We are all affected by the global warming crisis, including your country.

Thanks for the visit. I have just seen your post and left a comment. It was really impressive.

Thank you for your inspiring words.

Fingers cross that we don't have to go anywhere else than staying right here on earth.

Global warming is a phrase that even the young children knows so well. My grandchildren thinks that global warming is going to make Santa move from the North Pole to the South Pole which is so much closer to them.

Good luck with the contest!

Haha, your grandkids are onto something! let's hope we can keep our planet cool enough so that Santa doesn't have to pack his bags. 😃

Oh gosh! That is a horror story I won't tell them. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Thank you very much for your participation and for sharing with us the climate situation in Pakistan, which is similar to that of my country Venezuela. With the difference that here it only snows in a particular state and we don't have seasons.

In addition to the fact that suicides for not paying debts are not common, that is also different and it impresses me that it happens, I imagine the levels of despair that these people have.
