The author of this article, Romi Mahajan, argues that "Data is the new oil," analogy is inherently flawed because too much of oil does not harm but too much of data does. Hence, he contends that "Data is the new water," is a more relevant analogy.
He goes on to list five factors that organizations need to invoke to protect themselves from data deluge.
