My Musings

Aging care industry is a cash cow for many entrepreneurs. It has become so expensive that only the rich and the middle class can afford it. In fact, in some countries, even the middle class may find it difficult to manage the cost of such care.

There is a misplaced assumption among medical professionals that once you are old, you will have health issues and have to live with it. They will treat the symptoms of your medical condition but will not provide a cure for it on the assumption that there is no cure for it.

Diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol are three common ailments for which doctors promptly prescribe lifelong medication to control the symptoms on the assumption that there are no cures for them.

These three medical conditions can easily be reversed completely with proper diet, nutrition and exercise. Yet, no doctor will suggest such course of action in place of the usual medications.

Why?

It is simply because, there is money in latter but not the former. These three medical conditions are sufficient to make old people more sick as they age and a sure candidate for aging care.
