Fly Me To The Moon
"Fly Me to the Moon," originally titled "In Other Words," is a popular jazz standard song written in 1954 by Bart Howard. The song has been recorded by many artists, but the most famous version is by Frank Sinatra, which became widely associated with NASA's Apollo missions to the moon.
Sinatra recorded the song in 1964 for his album "It Might as Well Be Swing," arranged by Quincy Jones and featuring the Count Basie Orchestra. This version is particularly famous for its association with the Apollo missions.
Fly Me to the Moon, was played on the Apollo 10 mission and later on Apollo 11. Buzz Aldrin played it on a portable cassette player after he and Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.
