SLC21W1 Basic concepts and utensils for baking.

Hello friends welcome to my blog.

After reading the basic terms of baking, I mentioned at least three basic terms used in baking that were not included in the list.

Thank you, @dasudi and @lirvic, for this educative teaching. It was a detailed teaching which any beginner in baking could easily understand.

These are also other terms in baking:

Grease
This is a term which means coating baking dishes or baking sheets. This is done either with oil or butter, depending on your choice, instruction or recipe. Greasing aims to avoid sticking, so it needs to be done thoroughly on the entire surface area, especially in corners of the baking pan where cakes tend to stick.

Whisk
Whisk, as the name implies, means beating or stirring baking ingredients together with a whisk, It is used to incorporate air into mixtures, especially for whipping egg whites into either soft or stiff peaks, and it enhances the texture and volume of the final dish.

Beat
This is another term that means thoroughly mixing the baking ingredients to ensure uniformity and cohesion. This can be achieved by using any baking tool like an electric mixer or whisk.

Blanch
This means immersing food in boiling water for a brief period, then promptly transfer to cold water to stop the cooking process.

From the list of basic utensils mentioned, can you tell us which ones you have at home? Did I mention at least three utensils that you consider essential for baking and that you don't have at home? Share with us images of the utensils you have.

These are the basic utensils mentioned in your teaching that I have at home

All the baking utensils you mention are quite essential, and the images above are the ones I have. But I don't have the Grid used in cooling dessert after baking.

How do you think a good pastry chef can be defined: by having tools or by having extensive knowledge and techniques in pastry making?

A good pastry chef should have a diverse range of skills and attributes that include being creative, paying attention to details, being organised, ensuring accuracy in measurement and being experienced in using various tools and equipment.
Most importantly be cautious of hygiene for food safety. Time management is also essential

This is my entry. I am inviting @eveetim, @rossnenye and @ninapenda
