Overweight and abdominal obesity under the influence of hormonessteemCreated with Sketch.

Hi guys
We talked about hormones before, today I want to talk about their effect on overweight and belly.

How do hormones affect weight gain and abdominal obesity?

Cortisol:
It is a stress hormone that stores fat. If you put your body under daily stress, for example: incorrect exercise structure, over-exercise, stress at home or at work, stress from diet or lack of sleep can stimulate this hormone.

Leptin
It is produced by fat cells and plays an important role in controlling appetite, it can also slow down the metabolism, which is good news! But to regulate this hormone, you need to be active and exercise.
Excess body fat can lead to leptin resistance, which means that your brain is not affected by leptin. When the brain is not affected, your appetite for food increases and you do not feel full.

Insulin
Every time you eat a high-carb meal or a sugary drink, your body responds by releasing insulin to absorb excess glucose through the circulatory system. Being overweight can often lead to insulin resistance, which in turn causes cells to respond less to hormones, and the first complication can be diabetes.

As I explained, not everything has to do with strenuous exercise, the hormones cortisol, insulin and leptin play an important role in regulating body weight and fat, and fine-tuning them requires proper nutrition, exercise and stress management.
