Self Defense Against Headbutt

Do you see someone doing headbutt?

Some people like to do headbutt. In this strike, you hit with the front part of your head. This is hard and if you get hit by a headbutt, that is painful. Sometimes it can make some serious damage.

So how can you defend yourself against a headbutt?

To do a headbutt, the attacker has to be in a close range. Even if the attacker is in kicking range, he cannot do a headbutt. When someone gets close to you and you feel that something is not right, you should be careful.

You can keep your hands up in a way that does not give the signal that you are ready to fight and defend yourself. Now it would be easier for you to defend yourself against headbutt.

If the attacker is about to headbutt you, your hands are already there to stop him. You can simply push him and move in another way. Or, when he is going to headbutt you, you can redirect his force in another direction.

To defend against a headbutt, you can also stop him with elbows. You can put your hands on his necks. Now if he tries to move his head forward, he will not find it easy to do that. You can stop him with one hand and strike him with another hand.

Attacking is the best defense in some situations. You can make your move and strike him to stop the attacker right there from attacking you. When he gets hurt, he is not likely to attack you.
