Crufts 2020

I've never been to Crufts. I think my gran may have shown some of her Pekingese there many years ago as she bred them. I guess it is some sort of dog heaven. Some of the breeds do look a bit strange, but I'm sure the owners love them. My parents had a few dogs over the years, but in our house it is cats. We don't show them.

On the whole they're mostly nice people although some come across as pretty full of themselves if not snobby. I have no idea how true it is but one breeder told me, a few years ago, that most of the Top breeders who show at Crufts know the judges really well and do stuff like send Christmas and Birthday cards and I imagine presents. It may have been sour grapes at not doing so well in competitions or maybe there was a nugget of truth there. Sounds a bit like another community, doesn't it? Bwahahaha

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Dog breeding must be a small world, and so they must all know each other. People are imperfect and it's often about who you know.
