It feels great to be taking part in today's engagement realizing how incredible and significant today is and in line with the subject matter. It is Christmas 🎄, a day Christians choose to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. In that sense, I want to say Merry Xmas ❄️.
The name or terms Summer and Winter are names of the core weather conditions exclusive to the Western world and various European countries. The names are quite different from what we have here in West Africa but the weather conditions are synonymous.
The seasons common to West Africa are the Rainy Season and the Dry or Harmattan Season. During the rainy season, there is usually huge rainfalls. This season begins from February through November. In the early months of this season, there is normally sparse rainfalls. This is usually from mid-February to the end of March, and properly sets in April and runs through September.
There is normally a break during August referred to as August break and the peak of this season is usually June, July, and September. It begins to diminish from the end of September and gives way to the dry season after the second week of November. The dry season begins from the third week of November and runs the month of December to the second week of February when the rainy season begins to show up.
Both seasons have the good and bad sides that accompany them and since they are inevitable, one should be well prepared to embrace them. As for me, I would prefer the dry or harmattan to the rainy season. Although the seasons have their degree of distress, there is a need to be deliberate about the way we get ready for them.
The rainy season is a planting season and the farmer's time for cultivation. For the farmers, various plants are cultivated at different times of the rainy season. The Rainy season comes with cool weather and eradicates heat thereby offering a blissful night's rest mostly anytime it rains at night.
Looking at it from another angle, during the rainy season, there are usually constant and most times prolonged rains which results in excessive wetness. A good number of the roads become deplorable, most of them unmotorable, and sometimes work and businesses are distributed hence, people begin to wish for the dry season.
The dry season dry season are reliable time as people move from their homes knowing full well that it's not gonna rain hence there won't be disturbance or interruption of businesses, activities, or events. It is also the nicest season for construction works of any kind as there is absolutely no chance of rain. For people like me, the harmattan that accompanies the dry season is lovely, and cold is enjoyable.

Other countries certainly have some seasons, but there are many states where there is neither winter nor summer in many countries. But whatever heart the state has is ultimately more important to that state of the season. I myself enjoy the rainy season a lot because our country has this rainy season.
