SFS Contest Week 9 | Shocking Moments

We move to week 9 of the shocking moments contest and today I want to share with you my shocking moment for the week. So I want you to read and see my shocking moments.

It was early in the morning when I heard a knock on my door I was still sleeping because of the stress of the previous day's lecture so since my lecture for that 10 was around 10:00 a.m., I decided to rest my head a bit.

The knock on my door made me get up immediately though angrily because I was still sleepy. So when I came out what I saw on my door shocked me. It was a lecturer from my department.

I was filled with shock and surprise as many thoughts flipped through my mind at the same time. Firstly I asked myself how this man knew my house, and secondly, what brought him to my house this early morning.

It was too early to even see my colleagues who are students and now I'm seeing a lecturer. All these thoughts flipped through me and I couldn't even greet him because of the shock and surprise.

He said can you offer me a sit 🪑, I said sorry sir please sir and he sat and said to me he knew I was surprised seeing him, especially by this time of the day I said yes sir. Out of curiosity, I asked Hope no problem sir he said there was a problem.

At that time my heart jumped and I became even more uncomfortable. So I decided to summon the courage and ask him what the problem was and he said that they would need me to represent the department in a certain competition help in a neighboring state this morning.

I asked how because I hadn't heard of this before but he said it is a competition that the department must attend and it is one of the criteria for the next accreditation so they need a bright person and the option they have is me.

I was so amazed and then I said to him no problems sir. I'm in school to learn and whatever the department decides I believe it's the right thing so I will go. He was so happy that I obliged so he said transportation and feeding would be sorted so I didn't need to do anything.

To me, it was a great honor to represent the school through my department. So I hurriedly went ahead to prepare for the task ahead since it was urgent and must be given urgent attention.

Lesson learned

From the above story, you will notice that it is good to be prepared at all times because you never can tell the hour or time when you will be called upon or taken unaware. Firstly, if I wasn't taking care of my room and my lecturer came in that morning and saw everywhere scattered he would conclude that I was a very dirty person.

Secondly, if I didn't stand out among my equals in class, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to be chosen to represent the school through the department in such a crucial role. So all these point to the fact that one needs to be ready and prepared at all times because you never can tell the day or the hour.
