The Highland Cattle is a rustic breed from the Scottish Highlands and comes very well known with long lัด the long horns and the waves in their coats. Changes of extreme cold doesn’t affect them as they have long hair on their body which allows them to build their muscles even in extreme winter. These hardy mammals were primarily kept for milk and meat, draught power and even for pulling loads and carts.

In comparison to other beef breeds, it is commonplace to speak of Highlanders as being of smaller stature, but still beef is quite advantageous to its taste and quality. Their flavourful and lean beef is of low fat but rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which is often labeled heathier than regular beef. Special Characteristics: The thick fibers of the coat help these animals withstand the cold and snow or rain as well.

Highland Cattle farming not only has agricultural purpose but also tourism and rural tourism and farming shows. Being very friendly and good natured animals impress attractions. Active measures are being taken in some areas as these animals are classified as endangered to the region’s population and genetic diversity.

All in all, Highland Cattle are both agriculture-related and cultural attributes keeping the images of the cracking landscapes of Scotland and improving the farming systems in the turn. Their role to the farming and environmental practices is still significant and worthwhile.
