Is It A Scam?

A few days back, I went to OGF Mall to look for something. I got the idea to try a toy vending machine, a claw machine, once for the first time. Even though I have seen it in videos on social media, I was a bit nervous about my first experience. It did cost Rs.100/= for a coin. I tried it once. What do you think? However, when thinking about it I thought it was a tricky thing or a scam which has been made in a way that nobody could grab a toy out of there. At the same time, I thought it may be very profitable as it's a tricky nature. It's attractive but tough to win.

Then I googled about it and I saw they had mentioned that the price of those machines is very high and also it costs a considerable amount for maintenance. That means it's unpredictable whether it's profitable or non-profitable. It was mentioned on Google that it's a questionable thing regarding its profit.

Toy vending machines are not necessarily scams, but they do often operate in a way that might be seen as misleading or unfair. Many of these machines, especially those offering collectible toys or figures in blind capsules, are designed with a random chance element.

The machines might also be priced higher than what the toys would cost if purchased individually, and the odds of getting a rare or desirable item might be low. While not technically a scam, consumers need to be aware of the odds and costs involved before making a purchase.

What is the trick in toy vending machines?

Many toy vending machines feature a series of collectible items, including attractive and challenging stuff. This encourages repeat purchases as people try to get something that did cost for trying it.

If a person can catch a toy on the first or second try, the cost per capsule or toy can sometimes be lower than buying the same toy separately. The pricing is often justified by the novelty and the experience of the surprise element.

Also, the machines often use colorful designs and appealing packaging to attract customers, particularly children, who are drawn to the visual appeal. And also, it has used the nature of some human beings, which is unsuitable in this kinda situation, to try again and again.

Toy vending machines attract people for several reasons. The cost per try is typically low, making it an affordable form of entertainment or a small treat. The immediate reward of getting a toy right after inserting money provides instant gratification, which can be very satisfying.

These elements combine to create an engaging experience that can encourage multiple purchases, often to get at least one toy just to cover the cost and satisfy ourselves, while the actual odds and costs may not always be clear.
