Steem Sri Lanka 3G contest series| week 02| A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed| 5% for SL Charity

I've met many friends in different places and different situations in my life. So, I have a long list of friends who have been and who are with me. Even though as it is, I have a small inner circle and out of this also only a few of them are close to my heart. ❣️

So, I've been thinking to write about one of my friends who always there for me. She is Janani. I met her at a very little age and that was in December 2006 when we were 10 years old. I went to my very first English class after the Grade 5 scholarship exam. When I went there, none of the friends I knew was there. I don't remember that much about who did talk first or anything but we've been best friends ever since, even though we were from different schools. We met only in that class. And the most horrible part was after Grade 11, that English class ended. 😑 And I'm not going to write about that part.

I told you that we were from different schools and I got to know that she was doing her A/Ls in another stream. So, there was no chance to meet her. A love story? Yeah, kinda! 😂 After 5 or 6 years, she contacted me via Messenger and I am so glad our friendship was renewed. Now we've become besties. We don't meet often because she is not here and studies at a different university in Colombo. We meet when she comes here for vacation. Then we spend a lot of time sitting, gossiping, laughing and disturbing each other.

We have the same thoughts. Yeah, we are the same kinda crazy. She is a beautiful, supportive and kind-hearted girl. We may have different friends but we have the same list of enemies. 😅 Most of the time, what we do is eating and gossiping. 🙊 There are a lot of things to share as we are not friends who meet daily. Sometimes, when I forget to text her, she pretends to be angry. 😆 It feels so good to have this nut case as my best friend.

We've never been angry with each other. She is always good to me and always there for me. She is one of the people I can trust the most. Anyone can be a good friend, but not everyone can be a best friend. Only a few of them can be friends who are with us both in our sorrows and joys. It's so hard to find this kind of friends. We should always seek friends who light up our lives.

Whichever path we take in the future, we will make sure that our friendship stays strong. I wish her all her dreams and hopes come true that way. That beautiful smile she has, should remain on her face forever. All I can say is having such a best friend is priceless! 💛❤️
