Major Technology trends for Education and Training in 2022 | 10 % BENIFICIERY SET TO ZERO TO INFINITY

The pace of digital transformation in the education sector has grown at an unprecedented rate over the past two years. All levels of education, from the lowest to the highest levels as well as professional and workplace training, have evolved into the internet and cloud-based delivery platforms.

In addition, the changing demands of industry and workers have led to significant changes in the relationship between adult students and continuing education providers, such as colleges and universities.

The value of the education technology sector (EdTech) is projected to grow to $ 680 million by 2027. Much of this will be due to mobile technology, cloud services, and virtual reality creating newly accessible, focused learning opportunities. With a positive outlook, we can celebrate the fact that the level of education available in 2022 is limited by where one lives in the world and the time one has to attend classes.

On the other hand, we should always be aware that inequalities in access to technology create another set of challenges when it comes to pursuing equitable educational opportunities. With that in mind, here's a look at some of the most important technology trends affecting education over the next 12 months:

Hybrid learning

The coronavirus has forced many schools and colleges to switch to remote learning. However, like many other changes, this was to accelerate the long-term trend. The market for online learning and e-learning resources is predicted to grow by 15% annually between 2020 and 2025, reaching a total of $ 50 billion.

E-learning gives alumni the opportunity to learn lessons and skills that can be taught locally, and for those in higher education, the benefits include allowing them to easily learn other responsibilities such as work or family responsibilities.

E-learning is the most popular form of on-the-job training, and - a study conducted by IBM in its remote learning programs found that its students were able to absorb five times as much content, at a cost of one-third of the company, which led them to study in detail. saving $ 200 million.

Along with formal education and training, many of us are now taking the opportunity to engage in learning and entertainment-driven by our hobbies outside of our professional life. Apps like Duolingo offer accessible language education, while others such as Flowkey and Simply Piano are aimed at those who want to learn to play instruments.

Lifelong learning (registration services)

The current education system is designed for a different world where young people are expected to be trained for "lifelong work." Learning opportunities were limited to those that could not be brought to a place where students could not physically reach them, and our years of formal education would be “ahead” - crowded in our first 20 years.

The employment situation today is very different from that of our grandparents or even parents. The rapid pace of technological advancement means that skills can expire quickly, and developing new skills continuously is an important strategy for job and business success.

Thanks to this wave of change, education providers and students are moving toward a more sustainable education - perhaps taking the lead in the enrollment process in many other areas of life. Another driver is the emergence of online learning aggregators such as Coursera or Udemy, which, along with traditional degrees and courses for many years, have provided thousands of "small courses."

This is intended to divide learning into portions that can be completed in weeks or months. New learning styles such as these are designed to meet the changing needs of businesses and employers in the 21st century and will be a popular way for students looking for flexible ways to incorporate education into their lives.

Focused learning technology - AR and VR

Extended Reality (XR) - which combines virtual reality (VR), Augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR), promises to create more focused and engaging learning opportunities.

This is especially true in these critical times when it is said that attention is short, and we are accustomed to absorbing information on fast-paced, biting, and eye-catching episodes. Most people who read this will probably remember reading about topics such as the Roman Empire by reading history books - imagine how much knowledge you would have gained if you had been able to navigate the digital rebuilding of ancient Rome.

XR technology also has some advantages - for example, it can help us train ourselves in imitation environments that are very realistic but do not pose a risk of injury or damage to expensive equipment. That’s why VR is used to train surgeons, as well as firefighters and search and rescue teams operating underground.

Less dangerous but more pressing or deceptive abilities can also be considered - the VirtualSpeech app, for example, allows anyone to practice speaking in public in public. This means you can get the feeling of delivering a speech in front of an audience and get a real-time response with your voice and delivery.

Similarly, Labster offers a simulated science laboratory and equipment, which allows students to get help without costly mistakes. And the VR Expeditions app allows teachers to take students on a visual field trip to 360 different cities.

AI and classroom automation

Artificial intelligence (AI) will have an impact on all human-created spaces by 2022, and education is the same. The continuous distribution of software-enabled by self-study algorithms, which can be improved and improved for any assigned task, will have far-reaching effects; as well as automated repetitive aspects of teacher work such as grading papers, which will be used to provide the most relevant educational methods or distance learning.

  • One example is the Altitude Learning program developed by Google engineer and part of it is powered by Facebook, which uses AI to promote personalized learning methods for school children.

  • The same concept is flexible learning, in which the subject tends to meet the needs of the students as they progress through it. Chinese schools have even used a face recognition system to check whether students are paying close attention in the classroom by scanning their faces with cameras equipped with computerized vision algorithms.

AI-enabled personal assistants such as Amazon's Alexa are also used in schools - one device, called Merlyn, is designed to assist teachers in managing classes and presenting their lessons.

Nano-reading

This tendency is also linked to the fact that attention span decreases, and there is always something competitive in our time. Nano-learning introduces a new EdTech concept where we can find ultra-bite-equivalent courses where we need them and where.

Under this concept, it does not matter if we do not remember what we have learned for more than 10 minutes because if we need to re-use the information, we can just re-read it!

Applying the same principle to academic or professional courses, short courses - such as those offered by the Arist text messaging service, can be focused on WhatsApp, Slack, or Teams. Some nano-learning platforms transfer information to social media platforms such as Twitter or TikTok. Nano-learning will undoubtedly grow in popularity by 2022 as it fits the public need for faster, more common, and addictive information and communication skills!
