I am interested to join this contest since I find it interesting and fun. I would like to share a funny story regarding my family when I was a teenager. This story happened that night at home after dinner. For me, it is a special momentum to remember since it is full of happiness and reminds me to thanks to Allah who gives me a chance to be a daughter of my parents. By the way, thanks to my cousin @safridafatih who invited me to join the contest.

That night, my father offered Mie Aceh as a menu for our dinner and of course, we agreed with the idea of Mie Aceh. Mie Aceh is a special dish from my father’s hometown, Aceh. We lived in Jakarta back then and at the same time our family financial was not really good, so, we cannot visit my father’s family in Aceh for almost 4 years. I suppose my father missed his hometown and family so much that day. Thus, he offered us to eat Mie Aceh as one way to pay his homesickness.

We had the dinner at home not at the Mie Aceh’s restaurant. After the dinner my father asked my mother, “do you still have the money for tomorrow? You know, for the groceries.”

Suddenly, my mother screamed hysterically. She ran to the sink and wash her hands with a lot of soap. My father was just laughing, watching my mother’s reaction. At first, I don’t understand but when I heard mother grumbled to father, I realized that the money he was talking about is actually rubber bands.

Usually, my father’s favorite restaurant which sell Mie Aceh use a rubber band after wrapping the food by wrap paper. Unfortunately, my mother hates rubber bands a lot. She is not afraid of it but most to hate it. She said it’s smell makes her sick and it is gross. Well, I understand about the smell but I don’t think most of people out there find it is disgusting or gross. According to my aunt, once my mother was still a baby, she always getting sick by rubber bands. So, she just hates rubber bands from the beginning and a spoiled wife. Plus, my father is such a prankster. I love this combination, LOL.
