I welcome you to my participation in the week 1 of the Engagement contest with the title: The most embarrassing moment of my life as a kid or parent.

👉Have you ever been embarrassed? tell us the scenario and how you felt.

Yes, I have surely been embarrassed before and this is the moment I can never forget in my life even till this day, whenever I'm in a situation of it, it's always a flash to my memory and I would laugh about it.

Okay!! let me tell you about my most embarrassing experience while I was a kid , this happened when I went to my common entrance exam while I was still in primary school , so my Mum and I took the public transport to the center , so when we're coming back , you drop from transport and to Cross to the other side of the road so that we can go there and board another public transport.

I could remember it is the Lagos - ibadan expressway , it's a very busy road and why crossing you have to be very careful on the road so on that afternoon after I was done with my exam, my mum and I pass down the road, so when we go to the Express we are waiting for cars to pass so that the Express could be free, you know since Nigeria things are not always done accordingly, there's no traffic light although there's an pedestrian bridge but it is slow and long , so instead we just follow the damn bridge to cross to the other side, and book our transport and move on quickly.

The bridge is always busy, so i noticed that okay yeah it's good to go, the road is clear a little bit, so I decided to cross thinking my mum too would have cross since the road is already free, and when I start some other people to crossed with me as well, and I feel that it seems okay to actually crossed so when I was crossing I go to the middle of the road I look back I saw that my mum has not crossed yet, like she's the only familiar figure I know on that line that was not crossing, so I was thinking did I made the wrong decision to cross or should I go back and meet my mum or should I continue crossing, by that time all the people that cross together with me already got to the other side, I was just like stagnant I don't know what to do.

I looked at my mum she was just totally lost, she couldn't have a word again because I was in the middle of the road deciding whether to go or come back , and a trailer is already approaching me and she didn't even know what to say, she was already in shock, she just stood and looking she couldn't even say a word then people with her was like "Malo Now", which means that " I should cross now" .

That day, I was actually supposed to register to a school far from home, then she made the decision that that there's no way I'm leaving her side until I finish secondary class which means the high school education, that can I do something like that is just so funny , and that was the most embarrassing moment of my life.

👉Do you think you deserve the embarrassment or it should have been someone else?

No, I don't think anyone else deserves that kind of embarrassment, yes I could say I deserved it actually because thanks to God it was my mum i went out, cuz if it was someone else I could have made a more rational decisions because actually I don't often go out when I was young I don't have to cross expresses since I don't go to a very far distance, and there's no way I could get used to movement like that.

So, I guess that day was for me to have a lesson on how things are done outside the world which I'm not used to actually, it was very funny moment I learnt my lesson since and everyday whenever I'm crossing a Express , I'll just remember the thing that had happen to me before it's always funny.

Therefore , I think I deserve the embarrassment , because if I was not embarrassed that day I wouldn't have learnt on how to cross the road, especially the Express roads.

👉What have you done to avoid such a scenario from reoccurring?

Well , I could say I'm now an adult, I'm a grown up I'm not 22 years old this situation happened to me when I was turning 9 years old , I believe that's a lot of age gap, and have learnt better now I know how to properly cross the road and I can easily cross anywhere .

Whenever I'm crossing the road and I saw a kid with me , I always ask the kids to let me take their hands to cross the road since I know how it feels like , I will be like "oh come with me boy, let's cross together ', then I will them how to cross properly next time .

Conclusion

My most embarrassing moment taught me a valuable lessons about responsibility, mindfulness, and compassion, It's a memory I carry with me all the time , and there is nothing shameful with it, I believe it is normal and I have grown through the experience today and can do those things with ease now

Embracing embarrassment is a way of learning new things, things that let us navigate life's challenges with confidence and understanding that it is normal to make mistakes, and I hope my story inspires others to embrace their own embarrassing moments, learn from them, and grow into better versions of themselves, thank You .

Here is where I pen down my entry to this contest, so therefore , I would use this moment to invite @yakspeace, @Lhorgic, and @jueco to participate in this contest as well.

I could feel the fear grip me when I got to the point where you stopped at the middle of the road. You must have been afraid and confused at that moment. You were able to learn something from that experience and it reminds me of the need to hold a child's hand always because...chises!
