Hello guys!
I wanted to introduce myself as part of this big community. I am Amir PoorHafezi aka A-Zee as my artist name.
I grew up with my mom's collection of music, legends like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams and many more. My passion shows up when I heard Gary Moore for the first time, I was like 14 15 or something.
All of a sudden I wanted to learn guitar but since I was a student and due to restrictions in my country I couldn't get there at that point. Some years later at high school I heard Metal music bands like Children of Bodom, HIM, In Flames, Nightwish, Linkin Park, they were my favorites. I couldn't find a proper instructor so I play along with my fave tracks by ear by power chords.
In 2014 I was in love with a band called Scar The Martyr and there was no tab on Internet for their songs so I decided to break em down by ear. I have broke down one solo in a video on Youtube (Cruel Ocean solo demonstration) which I will post it in the next days. I've always played Gary Moore by ear and it was 90% correct. Later on I was checking myself with tabs to see if I play wrong or right.
In 2017 I heard a band called Periphery and they were something new and unheard. Jazz voicing odd meters syncopated riffs catchy melody lines sometimes atmospheric breakdowns, this music was exactly what I needed. Founder Misha Mansoor had a great taste in guitar tone. I spend several months till I could nail his tone first with Amplitube 4 amp sim, then Bias FX and then I got a tube amp for myself which was the ultimate. As you can see he dragged me into mixing and producing. I wanted to know how his music works so I enrolled in Berklee Online for some courses to fortify my knowledge. Up to this point I can produce music like him.
I needed a Dingwall bass guitar (high end guitar factory) and it's impossible to reach down here so I go to my friends shop and try some Ibanezes and Corts (budget guitars) and found the one that has that character of single coiled bass and what I realized is with knowledge you can pay lesser for gear and have pro quality production. Knowledge and the right tool is the best bet for success. I never use outboard gear I always use plugins in my mixes despite my love for tube and analogue equipment because when you train your ears and with right reference you can have a sweet analogue-ish mix. Also I use GGD libraries for my drum sounds which is the most realistic drum samples I have ever come across. Okay let's see some action here are some links to my works and trust me they are brutal! :D
Thanks for reading and Listening!
