Toilets of Thailand #3 - The Barristro, ChoburisteemCreated with Sketch.

This was a nice place to stop for sustenance on the way to Sriracha recently, but these days, I'm more interested in the quality of the bogs than the food and beverages which to me, are all very much same, same!

This is The Barristro in Chonburi. Notice the 'clever ' play on words which is very apt as it really is a fairly high-end coffee shop with a superb bistro-style menu. The food and coffee we had were excellent but it's the toilets we are really interested in!

The toilets were in a separate building behind the cafe which is the best place for them and it stops smells emanating into the dining area as can happen when the bathrooms are no more than a room off the eating area.
As they often are in Thailand, they are of a semi-outdoor design which can mean bugs galore, but I'm happy to report they were kept spotlessly clean.
The design was simple and modern with a few 'cutesy' touches and everything worked as it should. The raked rendering that covered the external breeze block walls was sublime.

There were three cubicles, three urinals and three sinks with a further 2 sinks on the outside wall so queues shouldn't be a problem. Each sink had its own liquid soap in a nice container so no need for sharing and a circular mirror for adjusting one's hair. Excellent. Loving the symmetry.

The cubicles themselves were kept pretty clean and tidy, just some slight signs of wear and tear but plenty of paper, waste bucket and a stainless steel bum-gun!

A very good experience and I score them a very highly regarded overall 7/10

The bogs are a good indicator of an establishment in my book as well. Those are pretty good by Thai standards!

Absolutely. I will be saving the horror stories for later lol
