Gur ki Roti (Jaggery Breads) are a commonly eaten winter food. Gur is very healthy to be consumed in winters. It helps in digestion and also keeps your body warm. It is very easy to prepare gurki roti. These are comparatively thicker breads that have a shelf life of 4-5 days. So you can stock them for some days and continue to relish whenever you are hungry. Kids love these too so these can be packed as lunch for kids. These can be eaten warm or cold too. If you like to eat them warm, simply heat them in microwave for 30 seconds. These taste really good with spicy chilli pickle. Combination of sweet and spicy is really appreciable.

Spicy Reg/Green Chilli pickle
Ingredients:
- 250 gms Jaggery
- 1.5 cups of water
- 2 small bowls of Wheat Flour (250 gms)
- 2tablespoonsfennel seeds
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- More ghee for bread preparation
- Salt as per taste
- 30 gms butter
Step 1: Boil the Jaggery in water for about 10 minutes or until the jaggery melts completely. Keep aside and let it cool.
Step 2: Take the Wheat Flour. Add fennel seeds and 2 tablespoons ghee.
Step 3: Now in portions, add the jaggery water and kneed to a soft dough.
Step 4: Take small portion of the dough and flatten it to a bread shape. Note that it should not be very thin like the usual breads we eat. It has to be comparatively thicker.
Step 5: Put some ghee on a pan. Now cook to bread on a slow flame. Turn it time and again and use the ghee to roast it properly.
Step 6: Serve with Red/Green Chilli pickle.
Step 7: Left over breads can be packed in a foil and consumed later.
