Hello, steemian friends especially foodies!
Even we were not going last night, it didn't make us to lose chances to enjoy tasty food at home so i decided to buy uduk rice for our dinner. Here in Jakarta, the city where i live, I agree that many places sell uduk rice no wonder cause uduk rice came from this place, but the question is, would everything sell same delicious uduk rice?
For you who don't know about uduk rice i would explain a bit about it. Uduk rice had white color but it not too bright, it made with the coconut milk that cause the color not too white as the white rice as it usually. It had soft tasty texture usually with good smell and also savory flavour. Usually all seller gave the fried red shallot on its top and it usually served with sambal kacang (spicy peanut chilli sauce).
For our last night dinner mom ordered their uduk rice packaged with empal (traditionally cooked beef) balado egg, tofu and fried tempeh; while my uduk rice had the fried chicken, balado egg, tofu and also fried tempeh for the toppings. So, the different between ours was just mom chose the beef while me, i chose the chicken.
The taste of our dinner:
Uduk rice – so tasty in savory with good smell and soft texture. This time we didn't add any peanut chilli sauce cause we didn't want to eat spicy but without it, the uduk rice was still so tasty for us.
Balado egg – had spicy and savory flavour
Empal - was soft and sweet with a bit savory flavour.
Fried chicken –i was lucky that the chicken was soft with tasty savory flavour.
Fried tofu and also fried tempeh – these two dishes were also tasty and savory
Our dinner was so delicious.
Have you tried uduk rice too?
