How my compost looks like after a month / コンポストを始めて1ヶ月

I was surprised to see how much kitchen scraps were biodegraded in my first batch of compost that I put the last pile almost a month ago. I guess the process was faster as we have warm winter. Mycelium emerges around the kitchen scraps. It looks like a good one that I learned in a Japanese composting guide book.

Some larger pieces are still there. You can see onion skin and spring onion. Now I know why people recommend to cut things in small pieces before putting them in compost.

I'm happy to see the result :) I appreciate growfood365, a Japanese grow bag manufacturer. Their instagram photos and a YouTube video that shows how to do compost encouraged me to start composting finally.

I look forward to use the compost soon in Spring/Summer garden.

今日、思い立って最初のコンポストの山に手を突っ込んでみました。おお・・・思いの外分解されている！1ヶ月ほど前に最後の生ゴミを積んで土をかぶせてベランダに置いておいたものです。『新カドタ式 生ごみでカンタン土づくり』で見た白い菌糸みたいなものも、生ゴミであったであろうもののまわりについていてよい感じ？？ただ、ちょっと大きめのネギの茎、玉ねぎの皮は残っていて、「生ゴミは細かくして混ぜるべし」と言われるゆえんがわかりました。

いずれにせよ、上々の滑り出しににやにやしています。Instagramで投稿を追い始めたgrowfood365さん（日本のプランターバッグを作っている方です）、growfood365さんのコンポストの作り方を紹介したYouTube動画に大感謝です。growfoood365さんのおかげでようやく重い腰をあげてコンポストを始められました :)

もう少し寝かせて春夏園芸で自家製コンポストを使うのが楽しみです。
