Starting from a simple idea to help others, Steem Amal has grown into a community that can spread kindness to the Philippines and Venezuela. The presence of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies makes it easy to channel goodness that transcends national and continent boundaries, with just content on social media that is rewarded with three types of crypto coins or cryptocurrencies of the type Steem Dollar, Steem, and Tron.

It was Nailul Authar (@el-nailul) and Jalal Anroja (@anroja) along with a number of members from the Steem South East Asia (SEA) Community who initiated the birth of Steem Amal. They set up a sub-community under Steem SEA. The method is really simple, anyone around the world who has an account on steemit.com, can set the results from the post to be donated to Steem Charity in a certain percentage, it can even be 100 percent.

"After seven days, the results of the post are paid, automatically entered into the Steem Amal wallet," said Steem Amal Program Manager, Nailul Authar, when filling an inspiration class for Nusantara Module Group IV students at Malikussaleh University, Saturday (16/10/2021).

He admitted, at first not many were interested in the idea of ​​Steem Amal so that the donations collected were only Rp. 12 million. The funds are used for programs such as emergency assistance for fire victims, for health programs.

However, over time and the Steem Charity program received support from Steemit (via the @steemcurator01 account), so the total budget reached hundreds of millions. The Steem Charity program then expanded to the Philippines and Venezuela in the form of a nutritious food program. Even then Steem Amal helped build houses in Venezuela after a similar program was successful in North Aceh.

Why Venezuela and the Philippines? Nailul answered that question before it surfaced because he had explained that in both countries there was already a Steemit community and had a program with Steem Amal. "Now, we are also building relief houses in Venezuela," Nailul added.

Until now, Steem Amal manages hundreds of millions of funds from Steemian posts, as Steemit account users are called. According to Salman, one of the coordinators of Steem Amal, the fund is "audited" publicly by Steemian around the world because it is reported regularly and openly.

Nailul added, in posting the budget usage report, all Steemians can ask questions and comment. Not only explaining about Steem Amal, Nailul also opened a Steem Amal account as well as several types of posts and comments. This opportunity is synergized with the procedure for opening an account for Nusantara Module students. The guide was also conveyed by Salman, the owner of the @radjasalman account who works as a school principal in Lhokseumawe.

Not all students understand the Steemit platform and cryptocurrency. Amalia Lusiyana from Semarang State University admitted that it was the first time she heard about the platform and used it for charity. The Economics Education S1 student not only asked about how to create an account but also about the types of posts, procedures for disbursement, conversion to rupiah. "Does it go straight to our account?" asked Amalia.

Meanwhile, Karina Febiola Lutfiansyah from the University of Jember questioned the appearance of Steemit based on a website and not an application. “Isn't it safer for users with apps than the web?” asked Karina in a webinar hosted by @ayijufridar.

Questions about 'like' or 'upvote' in each post came from Ramadhanif Adji Fajri'an. General Sudirman University students questioned whether people who vote on other people's posts will also benefit.

Not only delivering tutorials on how to create a new account, Salman also shares tips for success on Steemit such as joining the community, diligently reading and commenting on certain posts, to participating in a lot of contests on Steemit.

The secret of success in Steemit was also shared by alumni of the Malikussaleh University Communication Studies Program, Bukhari. The founder of the @promosteem.com community is building a cafe from the proceeds from Steemit. The @arie-steem account owner also has many programs that get support from account owners who have high power.

“I also approached the whales (owners of high power) through the Discord application. It won't always work, but at least it will hone your English skills,” concluded Bukhari who was ready to share with the Nusantara Module students.

The first inspiration was not only attended by 18 of the 20 students of the Nusantara Module Group IV, Malikussaleh University, but also Steemian from various communities. Steemian hopes that students can be inspired to create accounts and share through Steem Amal. Berawal dari sebuah gagasan sederhana untuk membantu orang lain, Steem Amal berkembang menjadi sebuah komunitas yang bisa menebar kebaikan sampai ke Filipina dan Venezuela. Kehadiran teknologi blockchain dan cryptocurrency memberikan kemudahan untuk mengalirkan kebaikan yang melampaui batas-batas negara dan benua, hanya dengan sebuah konten di media sosial yang dihargai dengan tiga jenis koin kripto atau cryptocurrency jenis Steem Dollar, Steem, dan Tron.

Adalah Nailul Authar (@el-nailul) dan Jalal Anroja (@anroja) bersama sejumlah anggota dari Komunitas Steem South East Asia (SEA) yang menggagas lahirnya Steem Amal. Mereka mendirikan sebuah sub komunitas di bawah Steem SEA. Caranya sungguh sederhana, siapa pun di seluruh dunia yang memiliki akun di steemit.com, bisa mengatur hasil dari postingan untuk disumbangkan kepada Steem Amal dalam persentase tertentu, bahkan bisa 100 persen.

“Setelah tujuh hari, hasil postingan dibayarkan, secara otomatis masuk ke dalam dompet Steem Amal,” ungkap Manajer Program Steem Amal, Nailul Authar, ketika mengisi kelas inspirasi mahasiswa Modul Nusantara Kelompok IV Universitas Malikussaleh, Sabtu (16/10/2021).

Ia mengakui, pada awalnya tidak banyak yang tertarik dengan gagasan Steem Amal sehingga bantuan yang terkumpul hanya Rp12 juta. Dana tersebut digunakan untuk program seperti bantuan darurat untuk korban kebakaran, untuk program kesehatan.

Namun, seiring perjalanan waktu dan program Steem Amal mendapatkan dukungan dari Steemit (melalui akun @steemcurator01), sehingga jumlah anggaran mencapai ratusan juta. Program Steem Amal kemudian melebar sampai ke Filipina dan Venezuela berupa program pemberian makanan bergizi. Bahkan kemudian Steem Amal ikut membantu pembangunan rumah di Venezuela, setelah program serupa berhasil di Aceh Utara.

Mengapa Venezuela dan Filipina? Pertanyaan itu dijawab Nailul sebelum mencuat ke permukaan, sebab ia sudah menjelaskan bahwa di kedua negara tersebut sudah ada komunitas Steemit dan memiliki program dengan Steem Amal. “Sekarang, kami juga sedang membangun rumah bantuan di Venezuela,” tambah Nailul.

Sampai sekarang, Steem Amal mengelola dana ratusan juta dari postingan Steemian, sebutan bagi pengguna akun Steemit. Menurut Salman, salah seorang koordinator Steem Amal, dana tersebut “diaudit” secara terbuka oleh Steemian di seluruh dunia karena dilaporkan secara berkala dan terbuka.

Nailul menambahkan, dalam postingan laporan penggunaan anggaran, semua Steemian bisa mengajukan pertanyaan dan berkomentar. Tidak hanya memaparkan tentang Steem Amal, Nailul juga membuka akun Steem Amal serta beberapa jenis postingan dan komentar. Kesempatan tersebut disinergikan dengan tata cara pembukaan akun kepada mahasiswa Modul Nusantara. Panduan tersebut juga disampaikan Salman, pemilik akun @radjasalman yang berprofesi sebagai kepala sekolah di Lhokseumawe.

Tidak semua mahasiswa paham tentang platform Steemit dan cryptocurrency. Amalia Lusiyana dari Universitas Negeri Semarang mengaku baru pertama kali mendengar tentang platform tersebut dan menggunakannya untuk beramal. Mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Ekonomi itu tidak hanya bertanya tentang cara membuat akun, tetapi juga tentang jenis postingan, tata cara pencairan, konversi ke rupiah. “Apakah langsung masuk ke dalam rekening kita?” tanya Amalia.

Sementara Karina Febiola Lutfiansyah dari Universitas Jember mempertanyakan tampilan Steemit berbasis website dan bukannya aplikasi. “Apakah tidak lebih aman bagi pengguna dengan aplikasi dibanding web?” tanya Karina dalam webinar yang dipandu @ayijufridar

Pertanyaan tentang ‘like’ atau ‘upvote’ dalam setiap postingan datang dari Ramadhanif Adji Fajri’an. Mahasiswa Universitas Jenderal Soedirman mempertanyakan apakah orang yang memberikan suara terhadap postingan orang lain juga akan mendapatkan keuntungan.

Tidak hanya menyampaikan tutorial cara membuat akun baru, Salman juga berbagi tips sukses di Steemit seperti bergabung dengan komunitas, rajin membaca dan berkomentar dalam postingan tertentu, sampai mengikuti kontes di Steemit yang sangat banyak.

Rahasia sukses di Steemit juga dibagi alumni Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Malikussaleh, Bukhari. Pendiri komunitas @promosteem.com tersebut sedang membangun kafe dari hasil dari Steemit. Pemilik akun @arie-steem itu juga memiliki banyak program yang mendapatkan dukungan dari pemilik akun yang memiliki power tinggi.

“Saya juga mendekati para whale (pemilik power tinggi) melalui aplikasi discord. Tidak selamanya berhasil, tapi setidaknya ini mengasah kemampuan berbahasa Inggris,” pungkas Bukhari yang siap berbagi dengan mahasiswa Modul Nusantara.

Inspirasi pertama tersebut bukan hanya diikuti 18 dari 20 mahasiswa Modul Nusantara Kelompok IV Universitas Malikussaleh, tetapi juga para Steemian dari berbagai komunitas. Para Steemian berharap mahasiswa bisa terinspirasi untuk membuat akun dan ikut berbagi melalui Steem Amal. Platform itu sekaligus menjadi sumber ekonomi baru bagi mahasiswa dan memberi peluang menjadi trader cryptocurrency. [Ayi Jufridar]
