In some countries of the world like India, the dowry is paid to the groom's family as appreciation for allowing their son to get married to their own daughter, but in many other countries it is not so!The groom's family pay the dowry to the bride's family.
which do you think is more appropriate??
which do you practice in your country?
if dowry is to be paid to the groom's family then why is it also called bride price and not groom's price??
It's called bride price. My my country dowry is paid to the bride's family and I feel it's the proper thing to do. If other cultures think otherwise, then they should rename it grooms price.
