It's a fitness Thursday dear Steemians. The weather was bright and clear enough for outdoor workout activities and I wouldn't just sit and let the day waste.
So as early as I could I was already up and began preparing for today's session. I got on my red t-shirt, black joggers and my canvas. Of course I won't forget my gloves in case I need to lift a weight which I had already anticipated there will be.
I knew today would be a great day so I was very set to begin the day with really high spirits. I got to my workout center at about 6:45am. The session starts at 6:30 am so training was already on and others were carrying out various activities.
On arrival, I began jogging around the fitness arena some 10 times. You can't imagine how much distance that was. We often start this way to get our body prepared for the session.
After jogging around, I did 50 squats. My legs and thighs haven't recovered yet😂 but really it wasn't that easy. We carried out the squatting session using different dumballs of various weights ranging from 5 to 20kg. But I preferred the 5 kg weight and the highest I lifted was 10kg, I can't go beyond that for now my muscles are still tender 😀
My coach has acquired new equipment for our training, this equipment I'm sure will be so helpful. This equipment can help one with a lot of activities on it. I carried out about 3 different exercises with it. We all love it and want more equipment for our training. The equipment comes with weights of different kgs from 5 to 20.
After the squats came the sit-up with weight. When I thought squat was hard, I just realized I've found something harder. Well I did some 20 rounds and I was tired already. my water bottle came handy so I quickly took some water to regain my strength. I continued my session after I gave myself a 3 mins break.
I also carried out an activity where I lift my legs high up and bring them down while in a lying position. Looks like the opposite of the plank exercise. I did this for 20 rounds too.
It was time for the tire drill. Various exercises were carried out using the very heavy tyres. The names I can't really remember but amongst them were the Russian twist, interlocking, jumping jacks and a lot more.
We flipped through the tires as well. Flipping through would require you lifting the tires while squatting. The tires are flipped and the process continues. But while lifting the tires, you should be in a squatting position and not bending.
After we flipped a series of rounds, we dragged the tyres as well. We dragged from one end to another about 15 times. Trust me that's really draining if you try it. We dragged some more and again.
We continued other exercises with the tires. Entering and jumping in and out of the tyres, with lots and lots of other tyre drills.
The truth is, after all of this, I was extremely exhausted and happy I was able to come out for today's session.
My exhausted face was so noticable my fellow fitness partners couldn't help but to ask if I'm okay. Well yeah I was absolutely okay, I was just tired and needed rest.
We did some stretches as a concluding part of the program today. We stretched various parts of our bodies and we were set to dismiss.
I headed home immediately to freshen up and have some rest.
