Hello lovelies,
It's another week to reflect, read and digest. If you have been following the food thought, you should by now be able to say a lot of positive things to yourself.
This week's topic says "Never look down on yourself?"
Looking down on yourself is the worst thing that can happen to anyone because it makes you lose your self worth, your respect and your dignity. It depreciates your self-love and also makes you feel worthless.
I used to make this same mistake when I was younger. There were some girls I thought were really special and better than me because I believed they were so smart. When they did something, I was too scared to try. I didn’t want to be around them because I thought they were luckier than I was.
This made me look down on myself and I stopped appreciating who I was, wanting to be like them instead. It wasn’t until I noticed that I knew things they didn’t that my perspective changed. I took a test with four of them and scored higher than all of them. That’s when I understood that everyone makes mistakes and nobody is perfect.
I started showing love to myself, appreciating myself and realizing that there's no one like me.
Note this, It’s important to have role models and people we admire, but we shouldn’t feel inferior because those we look up to have their own imperfections. Many people idolize social media influencers, comparing their lives to the ideal images presented online. But have you considered what their lives are really like when the cameras are off?
Some may struggle with feelings of worthlessness, depression, or other issues behind the scenes, yet they project a perfect image that can make you feel inadequate. Be mindful of the company you keep and the advice you accept, as these can influence how you view yourself. Don’t let anyone belittle you or diminish your self-worth.
I remind myself daily in the mirror of my beauty, my value, and my unique talents. You should do the same for yourself.
I leave you with this for the week, see you in the next episode!
Thank you for participating…..
