This week's featured birds are a Red-bellied Woodpecker and Dark-eyed Junco.
I typically watch and count birds on Saturday and Sunday. This is my report for 15-16 January 2022.
The weekend started off with a really neat sunrise.

Hi @etcmike, a few days ago I was able to see a woodpecker chick and the ones around here do not have a white breast, rather something greyish, must be another type different from the one you photograph.

Hi @etcmike. The woodpecker is always in the area, don't those birds migrate.

The woodpeckers are in the area year-round. There I times when there are more woodpeckers in the area than other times. I think they do move around, but I seem to have at least a few that are here year-round.
STEEM on!!

Greetings @etcmike, it amazes me how all those species that stay during the winter in that area adapt, as if something in their nature forces them to stay there.

It could be they like the four seasons that occur in this area.
I think it is just an instinct behavior. Some birds are migratory and some are not.
Steem on,
Mike
