Few days from now we will be celebrating Hearts Day. Though for me hearts day should not only be one day but Everyday!! Since February is love month, allow me to relate to you our love story. I made a post about this four years ago but I will tell it you again because it is my favorite love story of all! LOL At least for me. :D

Here it goes...

How did you and your partner meet?

Year 2007, I used to work for a Non-government Organization based here in Cebu that trains Filipinos to build and create their own enterprise or business. I was one of the Regional Coordinators for the Alumni Services assigned in the Visayas and some portion of Luzon Area. My job was to visit and assist our alumni in whatever needs they have that is related to the services offered by our organization. My job gave me the opportunity to travel to different places in the Philippines and established networks everywhere. Basically I was travelling while working. :D All expenses paid by the company.

On the other hand, the trainings we offer for our students for two months is free and it was in-house. Free board and lodging. Our students need to come to Cebu and stay for two-months to avail of the training. My husband was one of our students. He is from Sta. Cruz, Laguna and he came to Cebu to avail of the said training. We first met in one of the orientation meetings prior to the proper training. I was not one of their teachers. But sometimes I facilitate when needed.

We had our Hi's and Hello's at the hallways and the admin office but never did I think that He will one day become my husband. We had casual conversations then later on we became text mates and call mates. We got to know each other more. For the span of two months, a lot of things happen. Just so timely that I have no frequent travels for alumni visits. Most of those times I was in the office. so we got to see each other often.

How did your first date go?

We did not have a formal first date. It was an informal one when, He accompanied me for a walk to our apartment to get something important. He was not my boyfriend yet. As always we had free flowing conversation about life. He told me about his past experiences with work and how he was able to achieved his goals. By the way, we are members of the same church. So our ideals about family and relationships are inline. Another thing that impressed me is that he is a handy man. He knows how to fix things and also "may diskarte sa buhay." It was on that day that he fixed our electric fan in the apartment LOL. Impressive right? LOL Anyway, I found potential in him. Potential to succeed in life.

Time just passed so fast that before we knew it, he was my boyfriend after his graduation. I am older that he is by 7 years by the way. I asked him the question," Are you sure you like to be with me? I am old? LOL" His response was priceless. He likes a woman who is mature and ready to face life's challenges. That melted my heart and I can't disagree with him anymore. Would you?? :D And so our journey to eternity begun.

What is your most memorable date or travel together?

When we talked about travel, we had a lot of it together. But I would say I have two memorable travels with him. First was when I travel with him to his home town to meet his parents. The second one was when he traveled with me to meet my father and ask my hand for marriage.

Travel to Meet His Parents

It was in June 2010 that we visited his place for the first time. Met his parents and siblings for the first time. We had a great time with his family. I was warmly welcomed by everybody. Which was a great thing. My in-laws were simple people with simple ideals in life and I love that.
While we were there we took a road trip like we always do here in Cebu. We went to to nearby towns and visited beautiful places. I love their place too!

Travel to Ask My Hand for Marriage

August 2010, we traveled to Negros with two of our friends to visit our home and to finally meet my father. It was one memorable event for both of us. It sufficient to say that my father did not give him a hard time before he gave us his blessing. Mission accomplished. I have so much to say but this will make this post long, you might get bored. LOL I actually made a post about it four years ago. For the full details of the trip, you can read it here,

We believe in Forever...

We got married after Seven months of being boyfriend and girlfriend. He was 22 and I was 29 then. Funny thing was, before we can get the marriage license he needs to have a parent's consent. :D It was not a problem though.

December 28, 2010 we were married for all time and eternity at the Cebu City Philippines Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As members of our church, we believe that marriage is not only till death but until eternity. And that families are forever. May forever! :)
