Hello friends, I hope you all are doing well. Today, I am presenting a true incident from my life to you all. Did I make the right decision at that time?
The incident is from 12 years ago when my three friends and I were having fun and walking around. While we were enjoying ourselves, we ventured a little far from the village, and it was getting quite sunny. So, we decided to head back home. As we were returning to the village, we covered ourselves with a towel to protect against the sun.
At that moment, an old man rode by us on a bicycle, heading toward our village. My friends thought it would be funny to tease him, and they said something to him. I immediately tried to stop them, but by then the old man had already heard and got angry, starting to yell at us. My friends found it amusing and continued to provoke him, but I was trying to convince them to stop.
As we got closer to the village, the old man got even angrier and started asking for the names of our family members. He claimed he would complain to the village head and said he was a respected man from the neighboring village and that the head knew him well. We got scared and decided to wait until he left before heading home, but he refused to leave and insisted on telling us who he was.
My friends then decided we shouldn't go back to the village and should go elsewhere instead. Since we had our faces covered with towels, he couldn't recognize us. But I disagreed, thinking that since I hadn't said anything to him, he wouldn't say anything to me. My friends went one way, and I headed back home.
The old man started walking with me, and we talked along the way. I told him that I hadn’t said anything to him; my friends were from another village and had left. But he held my hand and said, "Now where will you go? I'm going to show you."
I tried to explain, but he wouldn’t listen. He took me to the village head, who actually knew him well and was the brother of the head from the neighboring village. The old man then started asking me about my friends, but I refused to tell him anything. However, the head also pressured me, and I eventually revealed my friends’ names.
I received a lot of scolding there, and I also got punished by my father and had to apologize. Even though I hadn’t said anything, I still faced the consequences for a mistake that wasn’t mine.
So, should I have gone along with those friends instead of coming back to the village? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
As far I can see. You did the right thing. It was not a serious incident. Boys can get a little rowdy and mischievous. Wondering how your friends dealt with you later since you revealed their names. For them get some scolding would be a good thing. but maybe they would not like to have you in the circle of friends any more? Thanks for sharing this. It's actually a cute story about some naughty boys.
