Hello steemians, it is often said that 'health is wealth'. As steemians we spend lots of time in the internet making researches, writing and posting on the steemit platform ,with the aim of making money. As we keep steeming there is a potential health issue that we may develop which is digital eye strain or computer eye syndrome as explained by @mobibliss.
In this article i'm going to discuss the following.
1: what is computer eye syndrome
2: steps and precautions a steemian can take to protect his or herself from digital eye strain while writing.
1: what is computer eye syndrome?
(a) Blurry vision.
(b) Double vision.
(c) Red, itchy or tearing eyes.
(d) Dry eyes.
All of the above eye problems are caused by focusing on the screen of a digital device for very long time. Such devices include.1: computers
2: Tablets
3: Smart phones
As steemians we spend a lot of time with these devices while steeming, and as we do so our eyes need to work harder to focus. This is because digital texts are not as sharp as the texts on a printed page. Therefore we need take the necessary measures to counter it.Steps to apply to protect yourself from digital eye strain
1: A good sitting posture can help reduce the risk of digital eye strain.
* Sit up straight and avoid letting your head and neck lean forward.
* Keep your shoulders relaxed to avoid hunching.
* position your screen below your eye level, about 4 to 5 inches. This means that you have to use a chair with the right height when writing.
2: Constant blink helps prevent your eyes from drying out by expanding mucus and moisture across your eyes. This is necessary because if you don't blink your eyes it becomes dry and irritated.
3: Reducing our screen brightness can help to foil the problem. This is important because the retina's light-sensing cells become over - stimulated from looking at a bright light, and that injures the eyes.
4: Take a break regularly. Rest for 15minutes after 2hours of continuous screen use. Move away from your screen.
