Welcome to the the twenty-fifth edition of the Gods Unchained Weekly Recap! Another big week this time around as we have been treated to the first iteration of...

The Favor and Sanctum System

Just a week after the Flux release and opening of the Core markets, another large system landed on Gods Unchained -- the much anticipated Favor and Sanctum system that allows players to pull cards out of the Sanctum and into their hand.

There is the official blog introducing the system and talking about a number of other changes that came with version 0.21. Definitely a must read - https://blog.godsunchained.com/2020/02/27/update-021/

Here is a feedback thread on Reddit that Chris Clay stated they are reading and watching, so if you have any comments or suggestions, hop over there and add your two cents to the mix! There is also a lot of discussion around the new systems in almost every channel of the official Discord.

Official Stream and Videos

No Official stream this week. There is a new blog post about 5 Essential Card Game skills and another post summarizing the Season One Lore revealed so far. You can read that at https://blog.godsunchained.com/2020/02/19/learning-legends-trial-of-the-gods-lore-recap/

Balance Changes

No card balance changes this week, though the introduction of the Favor and Sanctum system will certainly shakes things up!

Marketplace

Token Trove has implemented Phase 2 of their Buy order system and made the interface for it simple and easy to use. You can read the details on their Reddit post - https://www.reddit.com/r/GodsUnchained/comments/f9hn97/tokentrove_buy_orders_phase_2/

Core card markets are still viable, though the initial buying rush seems to have died down. I expect that we'll see a heavier marketing push when it comes time to roll out Season One, and that will hopefully bring in a fresh group of players to help revive the markets.

Dev Update #8

Coming up soon-ish (according to the update) we have the reveals of the final three Champions from Season One, and migrations to the blockchain for the remaining promo cards (Chimera and Etherbots cards).

They also say that they hope to have all the boards, trinkets, and such tokenized and on the blockchain prior to the launch of Season One.

Meta

For anyone who was tired of the meta, this week provided a major shakeup. Though it's only been out for a couple of days, it's very clear that the Sanctum system will bring some major upheaval to the meta -- perhaps for some time to come as players adjust and the team iterates further on the system.

So, all bets are off for this weekend's tournament, though it seems that the Favor encourages removal and gaining early board control. Aggro decks may be back in vogue after being dominated by Control for the past several weeks.

Here is Bittrio's latest meta report from earlier this week (before the Sanctum introduction) - https://steemit.com/hive-173286/@bittrio/gods-unchained-meta-report-feb-24-ranked-constructed

Gods Unchained is an online, collectible card game with true ownership of your cards. The card information is stored on the Ethereum blockchain, so the cards can be traded, bought and sold in any NFT market, while the game itself runs off-chain, so there are no transaction fees involved when playing. The game is free to play, and you can get started now.

Sort Order:

I haven't quite got the hang of using favor yet. Each time I have tried my turn almost runs out and I am scrambling to catch up.

Look at the Sanctum while it's your opponent's turn so you know what's in there. Try to think a couple of turns ahead for which one you might want to get so that when it's time you can grab it an play it (if that's the plan), or pick it up after you finish your moves.
