Where on Wednesday forty: Working from home progression

I'm not one to keep a daily diary and certainly haven't felt inclined to keep a lockdown diary as some people are doing. Although if I did decide to keep a lockdown diary I think it would look something like this...

Day one: Shit.
Day two: See day one.
Day three: Still shit.
Day four: See last entry.
Day five: Yep, still shit
Day six: Yes damn it, still.

I think you get the idea.

Whilst keeping a diary isn't something I've felt inclined to do I have been documenting how I have changed, from a physical aspect, over the few weeks of working from home.

I've taken photographs each week since working from home and have even gone to the trouble to put on the same suit and tie and strike the exact same pose in each to more accurately demonstrate how I have changed since working from home/lockdown started.

That series of photos is below and as you can see, in only three short weeks, the change is reasonably dramatic.

You'll note I skipped a week which was done on purpose as the week two images didn't show that much of a change...Only in the last week have the dreadlocks really started to take shape.

I went into the office today thinking I'd show my face...I even put on my big boy pants (long trousers) for the occasion rather than wearing shorts which is pretty much all I've worn for three weeks at home.

I walked through the doors into the reception area and the receptionist was like, "can I help you?" with a distasteful look upon her pretty face, furrowed brows and screwed up nose...

I'm like, "Nicole, it's me, the G-dog!" I flashed a smile, but I'm afraid the dashing grin was lost behind my three-week beard and dreadlocks growth.

With a look of horror and revulsion Nicole snapped back, "How dare you impersonate such a cool dude as the G-dog! Begone foul creature, or I shall call the cops! I'm warning you ya hairy Sasquatch, off with you! Now!"

"Nicole", I said in my most G-doggish voice, "it's me, you know, your friend The G-dog!"

"G-dog?" Nicole said cautiously, "is that you?"

"Of COURSE it's me ya knucklehead!" I responded hoping the smile I was flashing at least showed in my eyes...I held my dreadlocks back in the hope revealing more of my face might jog her memory.

"G-dog!" She exclaimed after a moment or two, and a pretty smile lit up her face..."What the actual fuck! You've only been gone for three weeks." She went on incredulously referring to my beard and dreadlocks.

So, there you have it...#whereonewednesday from my office office. I didn't stay long today, just long enough to find out one of our staff had a meltdown and quit and another just had a meltdown, a babbling, teary foetal meltdown...With a resignation letter already written but not submitted.

Both of these blokes are my mates and so I was a little sad to hear that pressures and stress had brought them to that situation and of course I set to work doing what I could.

I guess that's partly behind this joke-post...I wanted to lighten the mood a little as I've just got off a 90 minute call with the second guy as above. He's not in a good way.

Hey guys, no matter where you are this Wednesday make sure you keep your spirits up and if you feel a little down open up and talk to someone; There's no shame in it. And for those who are all tickety-boo and feeling great, maybe it's a good time to call someone who may be under pressure and ask if they are ok. They might appreciate it.
