Ways to become a time conscious boss

Some of us have serious issues with being late and being our own boss has not helped us either as we get up at will and get to work late because we have workers who must get to work before us. Being punctual is a sign of respect to our clients and to our business itself. Punctuality is one of the attitudes of a great business person so you really need to stop using the fact that you do not have a boss as an excuse to go late to work every day.

Realize that lack of punctuality is a serious problem.

A lot of people already consider being late as part of their lifestyle but the first step to conquering lack of punctuality is to realize it is an issue that needs to be tackled, if you consider something as a problem then you will work towards overcoming the problem but if you just stay around with the problem, it will stick with you for a longer time than you realize.

Stop making excuses for your lateness.

A lot of us are used to giving reasons for our lateness, we put the blame on our kids or our pets, all those things about pushing blames will only make things worse, those excuses are part of your responsibility and if only you had woken up earlier or planned properly, you would have still being on track.

Wear a wristwatch.

A research carried out few years ago showed that majority of those who wear wristwatches usually are time conscious people, wristwatches keeps us informed about how fast the time is moving and how we need to take steps to do things as fast as we can since time is not waiting for us.

Celebrate little achievements.

You can set a little reward for yourself whenever you do something earlier, you can promise yourself a lovely tea whenever you wake up earlier but no tea when you wake up late, your love for tea might wake you up pretty earlier, this is just an example, it depends on what you like to do.

Try to make schedules.

Make proper schedule for everything you do, a good schedule will keep you in track and help you know the next area to focus on, a written schedule usually makes us more disciplined.

Get rid of non-essential activities.

Activities that do not add anything to us are the ones that take most of our time, if we want to keep to time we have to get rid of those activities that do not add any value to our life.

Hello friend good advice, I agree with you, punctuality is a habit we should cultivate, the boss should set an example for his employees to follow good habits. If you are unpunctual it could translate as lack of interest in what you do!

See you later, have a successful week !

Hello friend, I think you are very right, I particularly am a very punctual person, I think it is an important quality and if we have a business much more. As leaders we have to set an example or at least that's how I see it. Thanks for sharing.

A time concious boss will be able to sanction late workers but one that is always late will not be able to make any reasonable correction.
