‘Your personal brand’, some words that ring bells very hard and get people talking but then a lot of people perceive personal brand as the number of active followers, the number of views, the number of people around you at all times or the attention gotten at any given time. This are like what we call signs of personal brand and that is not the brand.
A personal brand is all about a person, what people perceive when they see you, what comes into their head when your name is mentioned and so on. It is built from the first conversation with a person or first impression a person gets about you from a third party.
A lot of people could have a very bad impression displayed to others at the beginning, if you lost your ability to give a good first impression, that doesn’t mean you do not get another chance to start building your reputation and personal brand with the person(s) again but either good or bad, no publicity is a bad publicity but Reform could change this.
Use a redemption arc if you have created a wrong brand for yourself at the beginning, start with a brand that will eclipse the previously negative brand you had on people in the past. Be willing to create a brand that will keep people remembering you. You have to change the narratives that people have about you, never create a title that will riot your current good status.
First impression is really a very important stuff, even outside business. We tend to have some reservations for people who really impressed us on our first meeting.
