Most people say that they want to be successful at what they do, but they've never really sat down to think in depth, what they're really saying. Because it's not a walk in the park, to be remarkably better, than everyone else in your line of work.

Champions in different walks of life, have that burning desire to distinguish themselves from the crowd. It's almost like an inborn trait, because they hate so much to be part of the crowd. They know that if you're not distinguished, then you're part of the lower 90% of people.

Those at the top 10% in your area of business, have over the years proved their competence, by doing what they needed to do, exactly when they needed to do it consistently. And that's not as easy, as many people like to imagine it. Consistence isn't easy.

Hence, before others see you as different and better, you need to have first seen yourself this way; and believed that you are. It's a very intentional thing - and it starts with having an image of yourself that is a better version of your current self.

Then, you just need to work harder and longer than everyone else. Going by simply mathematics, if you put in more hours of work, than people who are roughly equal to you in skills; over a period of time those your extra working hours will start to distinguish you from the masses.
