The truth is that life isn't a bed of roses. And a times, the challenges can make you feel a little bit miserable. It's possible to feel depressed, whenever life isn't working out as you planned. But staying depressed is a choice that you make.

It's true that if something that you don't like happens, then you may feel depressed. This is perhaps a natural human tendency, as any form of loss or uncertainty can make you feel this way. These things are probably out of your control. But staying depressed is a choice, that is within your control.

If you've noticed, it's the poorer people that complain about depression more. This is because they don't control their minds like the rich do. You should never let what you cannot control put you in bad mood. You must control your mind to disregard it.

Most people feel depressed when they believe that the problem that they're confronted with is bigger than them. You should always know that you can overcome almost anything, if you believe that you can. Thus, rather than feeling depressed, take action on what you control.

A great way to pull yourself out of a depressing situation, is to work. Contrary to what people think - which is that you should stop working, when feeling depressed. Most rich people handle their depression by jumping deep into work - and before long, the depression goes away.

I agree with you. Work can really help you get out of a feeling of depression. But you must really throw yourself at the work. Your mind will have no other option than to focus on work, and you get over whatever was making you feel depressed. Interesting read.
